Thanks! Looking forward to it @grandmasterben  [emoji106][emoji4]

It's a weird sizing for me too @TrickHell. The shoulders are on the large side compared to the chest (I also see that same shoulder- heavy ratio on a couple of TFH shirts I have, must be the way the brand sizes up its tops).. BUT somehow it works [emoji106][emoji106]
Works best / great for me over an IH shirt, medium to heavy. I think the same might apply to yours…..

      Thank you kind Sir @Finkster

        @grandmasterben:

42 sounds too big man, I have a pic in 38 and 40 if it helps. I'm a 40 in fh

I measured my Schott and emailed Kiya. The 42 was his rec.

If it helps, mine is 42 as well and I'm usually a 38 (in IH). I tried the 40 in the shop and it was a clear no - I couldn't close it and /or lift my arms. I can do 40 if I remember well in the Buco though.. Weird sizing across [emoji53]

            Ironhearters, some advice please.

I bought a pair of Flat Head denim the other day (3012) and had started the soak, shrink, wear, stretch process.

However to my dismay, one of the rivets has popped off, please see attached pics.

I'm not new to raw denim, I have experience with LVC shrink-to-fit and a few one-wash Omnigods. So to see this happen on the top button really makes me think about returning these.

They came from 2nd Shop on Rakuten so we'll see about how good they are about returns/exchanges but I have a feeling this may be a tricky one. For a pair of £200+ jeans this is not what I expected.

            Advice and help please!

Stuff like that just happens from time to time.  Sometimes the fault just can't be detected.  Ask the retailer who sold them to you to get another pair or fix those….

Yeah, I hear you both, I'm trying not be a whinger but for a pair of extremely expensive denim I was hoping for a little more robustness!

I have emailed 2nd and will report back for those in a similar situation.

@Giles do you still take care of FH interest in Europe? If I encounter any resistance would you be able to help?

I appreciate that but it's not just cash as to why I'm buying from Japan.

There are no retailers with my size in the UK, so it's either US or Japan, and I chose Japan.

Ironically since ordering I've found a store called Rivet & Hide who stock them, Sod's Law in action.

2ND’s return policy is pretty inexistence and since you soaked them already I don’t see a big chance for you to return them. But they should be able to supply you with a new button which you can apply by yourself or a tailor does it for you.

^This.  To my knowledge no international returns are accepted.  No idea if they would be able to send you a new button though, so that's worth a shot.

Probably not what you want to hear, but you can go to a local art/crafts supply store and buy a set of jean buttons. I did it with a pair of Nudies almost 9 years ago and the store bought ones were even better than the stock ones on the pants originally.  Plus, you can have some fun and order something you like, perhaps on etsy - I'm sure a cool vintage green or blue painted button would look badass, but that's just me.

Anyone ever size down in FH jeans? haha

Long time ago I sold a pair of 30x33.5 F310 on here, they fit slim but after just a couple hours of wear I was getting major diaper butt… way on down the road decided to try again with Sz 29 F310 to see if I could avoid the diaper butt situation but I bought them real cheap somewhere and they sat in my closet for maybe a couple years now?

Finally decided to break em out soak em and try em on and jesus these things are like painted on jeggings. I've worn them for around an hour now and they ARE stretching out but these are so damn slim. Yikes. My wife apparently really likes the way I look in them but i'm sitting here praying they will continue to stretch and eventually allow me to breath. Surprised I haven't popped the button yet.

I wear Sz 30 in typical IH jeans... DC4001 and 634s are still my current. Self edge measurements of the Sz 29 F310 and Sz 30 DC4001 seemed fairly close to me but I am far more comfortable in the IH.

How much stretch can I expect in the F310 model? I'm around 6' tall, 150lbs with super chicken legs.

@Splattered You should be able to stretch the waist just about out to the raw measurement but this denim continues to shrink with subsequent washes and can end up between 0.5-1.0" less in the waist than when raw.
Stick to cold washes when the time comes.
