Oh wow, I'm glad you finally got some Avery Uncle Jacob's Stout. I've been cellaring one for you, but I'm drinking it now!! The alcohol is strong in that one. You will absolutely love it, whether you drink it now or in a year or so, but it will keep for many years. it is so unique and flavorful, so much luscious chocolate and bourbon. The mouthfeel is luxurious and the alcohol gives it a welcome heat to the aftertaste. Really in my top 5 imperial stouts of all time.

The rumkyn is unique as well. The pumpkin and spice is countered by the powerful, sweet rum note. It's one to share with a mate, I didn't want to drink the whole thing, but the pumpkin flavor is exquisite and it has been made and aged as well as any beer on the planet, just like all the Avery beers. Their brewing system and the people running it are top class, and the brewers are all incredibly intelligent beer geeks.

Yeah I knew you had one for me… Glad you're enjoying it  😉

It'll take a while before I open either of those fuckers... 17-18% is a little much, even for me...

                Meanwhile... Decent...

Don't believe the numbers. We would chug 4oz pours of that shit when it got heavy in the kitchen. It goes down like any 10%er

Well maybe that's an exaggeration, but it no worse than that 12% you're drinking now, and it's a smaller bottle

Oh I've had beers of that strength before… It's just that I can't do that when I have to get up at 5  fucking am the next day... Which is basically how my December looks like... 4.30 am with a happy slice of 6 on the side if I'm lucky...

Not complaining: store's doing good. Lotsa work. Happy to (have) work. But dear GODS do I loathe December  😉
