So why exactly are these so expensive? The leather. hardware, or…? I have no problem paying premium $ for premium goods, ( i own sugarcane, sorrenson, tanner, crescent down, to name of few) but these seem to be way overpriced. At least twice what they should. Honestly, it's like someone was: "eh, we deservingly charge a lot for all our other stuff, we can do the same for this simple product, and no one will bat an eye!" I hope i'm not correct, but if so, it's pretty insulating.. You shouldn't do something just because you can.

If this was a monopoly and you could not buy something similar elsewhere and I was screwing you just because I thought I could, then yes it would be both cynical and insulting.

However, this market is competitive and we choose to charge the minimum we can to make a fair margin.  Some stuff just ends up being very expensive because the cost of materials and production are high.  In point of fact we make tiny margins on the silver and leather goods.

If you don't like the price, we are not forcing you to buy it.

And what exactly do you base this assertion on? You have no idea what mine or Haraki's cost base is, so how do you know?

One could also posit that in the absence of handling the goods in person then it is not possible to determine the quality inherent in them and associated value. My personal experience with Iron Heart goods is that the quality is rarely equalled and I know that descriptions and photos are never a substitute for the tactile.
