Hoping the 2015 version of Santa's Little Helper from Mikkeller is good as well. I've got a sweet spot for it, even though some people tend to hate on it.

      Thanks @Seul - I'll just grab both..

        @Peter:

The christmas beers have arrived! Most of them at least, another drop is probably due in a month or so. @neph93 have you tried Nøgne Ø Underlig Jul? Never tried anything from Nøgne, but thinking of grabbing a bottle when they release.

I like both God Jul and Underlig Jul. Underlig is more intensely spiced. They're both worth a try.

Just to confuse things more, in my opinion the Special Holiday Ale is their best xmas brew. Sorry about that 😉

Have you had the Backwoods Bastard or any of these Dragons Milks?

Haven't had the Backwoods Bastard, would love to try it  🙂

Ok, I can spare a couple and sort a few others to send you. Anything else in particular you've been looking for? A lot of what I have set aside is Dark Horse, Founders, New Holland, and other Michigan brews. I even have a couple Bells 30th Stouts still. Knowing your appreciation for big brews though, I think I could fill something out

Not sure what Founders I have that you can't get, but will look. Have you had the Breakfast Stout or Double Trouble?

Thanks @neph93 - I grabbed an Underlig Jul, simply because it was the only one they had in stock. Might try it tonight! But judging by the description, it might just be too christmasy for November haha..

Have a bottle of their imperial stout waiting outside… Couple of years old (past exp date)... Curious  😃

How hard is it to find Bells Black Note or Expedition stout in MI?..

The Black Note I haven't seen in a while, the Expedition just dropped as did the Third Coast Old Ale (Barleywine). I am not a huge fan of Bells, but the Third Coast is good

Drinking this right now, didn't last long in the fridge. Absolutely delicious…

Seeing as how it costs 1€/ standard bottle here in Belgium for a saison Dupont, I'd wager to say it's the best Belgian beer price/ quality-wise…

jdl: yeah I don't fret about expiry dates at all... My mate does, however... It's funny: he has his cellar organised by exp date... "2019 's gonna be a heavy drinking year: all my Struise beers are expiring then"...

I love stumbling upon the occasional bottle of 10%+ that's marked down because it's old. It happens more frequently than you might think with some of these shop owners.

I haven't done it so far, but I might start checking bottling dates and such in shops where there's heating and (too much) light…

I typically check bottling dates. I came across a 2014 Black Hatter IPA on Saturday. The shop is usually better than that and when I pointed it out the guy was genuinely embarrassed

Madrugada Obscura sour stout from Jolly Pumpkin. I had no idea what to expect from this one, couldn't begin to wrap my brain around the concept of a sour stout. It's actually pretty great, just a good sour with a touch of the richness and creaminess of a good stout.
