Quite different from my pair 🙂

Guess your pair have seen one or two machine washes?

Yep, about two washes.  They've gotten way too dirty and smelly to avoid it.  Years ago I would have let them go longer, nowadays I just wash jeans whenever they get too funky.

Wanted to give my opinion on the jeans here.

                  1st time raw denim wearer.

Had one hot wash/soak with a few rounds of cold water rinse.

Surprised at how much the waist shrunk. Hope it will loosen up a bit.
Length wise i didnt notice much shrinkage though.

Now the thigh is fitted and no room left when i sit down.
Its well bloody tough to bend my knees to wear my shoes, how do you guys do it? LOL !

Dissapointed at the leather patch. Quite a few cracking on it.
Even after applying some RW leather oil (light coat) it didnt do it much good i feel.

Not too much a fan of double cuff so i think i will hem the length bit more to a single cuff style.

Oh and the crouch area feels like someone is grabbing my nutsacks LOL…...

Living in Asia so it does get bit hot wearing the jeans outside.
All in all i i think i got bout 15-20 wears out of them before they needed a wash.

It will get easier within days. Fear not! As for the leather patch, try Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP or Mustang Paste.

So guys, I'm considering getting these (they seem to fit similarly to the Livid Jeans Roald-fit - which fit me perfectly). The last few jeans I've bought have all pre-soak waistlines in the 35,5-36,5 inch area. I see that these shrink about 1" in the soak - but how much do they stretch? Would a size 34 (35,5 inch waist - pre soak) be too tight?

                                Hi, Lucifer.

I know Livid's fits quite well and I don't think you'll find this similar to the Roald at all. The "Roald" has a heavy taper from thigh to cuff and a roomy top block. This is more slim/straight and has a more fitted top block. So maybe similar to a slimmer "Harald" cut except with a much higher rise. The nearest IH do to Roald would be the newest iteration of the 777's that are coming soon.

                                  Hi, Lucifer.

I know Livid's fits quite well and I don't think you'll find this similar to the Roald at all. The "Roald" has a heavy taper from thigh to cuff and a roomy top block. This is more slim/straight and has a more fitted top block. Ah, ok, I was just guesstimating from my head. Did a quick comparison of measurements now:

                                  Livid Roald size 34 versus IH-666SII size 34 versus IH-777S-21 size 36 versus new IH-777s-21 size 36:

                                  Waist 36,3 - 35,5 - 36,0 - 36,0

                                  Front rise 9,5 - 11,3 - 11,5 - 10,9

                                  Back rise 13,5 - 15,8 - 15,5 - 14,7

                                  Thigh 13,1 - 12,8 - 12,8 - 13,2

                                  Knee: 8,5 - 9,3 - 9,0 - 8,5

                                  Hem: 7,3 - 8,8 - 8,4 - 8,2

I can see now when comparing directly that especially rise and hem is quite different. I guess I can wait and see the new 777 when it arrives. It seems to be relatively close. The rise is a bit higher, but not too bad I think. I think I'll just wait for those.. 🙂 Thanks!

Good call, and my pleasure. Another problem with Livid and IH is different measuring methods, especially in the thigh and waist. Good luck!
