@Oleg you finally pushed me over the edge on these with your pics. Hopefully with all the sizing and measuring help I got from @Sam (in the middle of all the UHF release madness, no less) my pair will fit as well as yours. Fingers crossed!

These remind me a lot of my SEXIHXLSXA13's when they were new. The denim is so thick and rigid and dark. I didn't have quite as tough of an experience as some people have (I re-read this whole thread in anticipation of receiving these and I'm still laughing over @Seul 's comments when he first got his pair), but this denim is no joke. It's going to take me forever to tame these things. Next pics will be after a soak/wash and a full day's wear.

Yeah, disregard that. I went ahead and gave them a gentle wash with some agitation to soften the denim up a bit, and afterward I figured I'd put them on wet to help stretch the waist more quickly. It was an epic struggle. I got the middle fly button buttoned, but the other two fly buttons weren't happening. I didn't think I was going to get the top button buttoned either, but after an exhausting life-or-death struggle, I succeeded. I wore them for about 20 minutes, and all was well (-ish) until I decided to take them off. I had a prolonged moment of panic as I quickly realized the 25 oz denim was in control of the entire situation all along. They were NOT coming off, because the top button was NOT going to allow itself to be unbuttoned. I honestly thought I was going to be "sleeping" in wet 25 oz denim. After another life-or-death struggle, I managed to free myself. It was like a scene from The Exorcist lol. "The power of Christ compels you!!!"

They're hanging on my closet door drying now. I'm a little nervous about sleeping in the same room with them.

I will be interested to hear your experiences with your hips and the back of your knees. LOL I know my hips were bruised and pretty raw for a bit. Welcome to the struggle xtc!

As @jdl1279 told me, welcome to the struggle, @den213 . Once mine dried after their first soak/wash, things got much easier. I can already tell they are going to fit perfectly and will most likely become my favorite pair of jeans once I break them in a bit. They're tolerable already (they were after an hour), and I've only got about 1.5 day's worth of wear on them so far (can't wear jeans to work). Breaking these is going to be a loooonng project for me, but I don't mind. I plan on enjoying every minute of the journey.

Thanks,  @Finkster &  @xtcclassic :)! The 25oz-denim is definitely serious business and a hell of a challenge. I also think breaking this beast in will take a while but it's more than worth it. I can already imagine them being smoother than silk. Buttoning them don't hurt anymore btw ;D.

A small update: after a warm 4h soak and a gentle 30° C machine wash the Devils are perfectly comfortable and they're already so soft like I've been wearing them for years (I'm almost concerned they might stretch too much!). I only wore them less than an hour. Amazing…

Small update for me too.  Going on about 2 months.  Have not soaked/washed.  They are quite tolerable at this point.  After a few traumatic experiences early on with the bottom button I have not undone it in at least 6 weeks….  Fortunately all functions can be accomplished without unbuttoning.  Have been rotating with 2 other pairs so the evolution has been minimal.  Mind blowing how much inseam you lose once the back of the knees settle in (monster combs!).

But not so much schrinkage with soaking. 30...40 degrees. No matter the temp.
