IHSH-99 - Overdyed 17oz Selvedge Denim Shirt/Jacket
-
Just initiated another run of these. Haraki can't guarantee that the inside taped armhole seams will not suffer damage again. We will not discount next time if it happens. The only way the finishing house would do another batch, was if we agreed to accept the risk.
-
Can't the "damaged" area be repaired post-overdying process anyway?
-
Yes, but it's not actually necessary…
There you go then (to reiterate the point that it's completely superficial).
-
It adds to the bad mofo attitude of the shirt anyway!!

Just received mine yesterday from Self Edge. The shirt is a tank. I decided not to size up and stuck with my regular size. Shirt fits exactly as I had hoped (plan to wear this as a shirt not as a shacket), nice and slim. Was nervous about the arm length before trying it on but the length is just right, very similar to how my IHSH-46 fits. Also really like how the hand pockets almost disappear into the shirt when not in use.
I was curious, and kind of hoping, to find some cosmetic damage to the taping on the inside but after giving it a good once over there was none to be found.
I'll see if I can throw some fits pics up with a comparison to some other shirts in the next day or two.

Listen up big-boys….XXXXL restocked....
shit –- just seeing this -- any chance you have a xxxxl kicking around somewhere, especially for the discounted price? i took some time off from keeping an eye on this place, and now wish i had seen this! been interested in one of these since they came out in the first place! let me know if a xxxxl rears its head!
thanks!

Give it hell!!!

Was having a shitty day so I grabbed one today. Hope the XL will work, and not be too big. If it is, it'll go right back for a L

What size chest are you/ what is your typical size?
-
I wear a Large in 99% of Japanese tops, a medium in American brands. Large in the 107 fits perfect and a 40 in the overdyed type 3 from self edge is a snug fit.

You should be alright with the Xl in this i would have thought. The overdying shrinks the fabric so imo they come up a bit smaller than usual.
You will not be disappointed with this one!!!!

^^ thanks, I read through this thread like 4 times before ordering. I tend to wear my tops more snug than most people on here, but a slightly looser fit seems to work better for this piece
-
XL should be perfect on you. I sized up to a large and it's not too loose, actually some days I wish I had an XL for more layering options. With the heavy denim, you'll be glad you sized the way you did.
-
I agree with @Anesthetist, sizing up is crucial if you want to layer. I went with my normal size because I wanted to wear it as a shirt. It fits exactly as I hoped. Slim. It's easily the slimmest fitting IH shirt I own, and there is no way I could comfortably wear anything other than a t-shirt or henley underneath it (buttoned or not). Cannot go wrong with adding one of these to the collection. It's bomb proof.
