Wow.
-
Mine too. But actually I'm glad, as it's an expensive way to wear shoes out that intense in short amount of time. The leather and constructionreally can take a lot abuse, but I fear the day I Need a resole. The heel is pretty low already.
-
cheers guys!
@Max Power
stop fearing about your boots!
IHVB-04-b-o-t can take everything you throw at them.
mine are not worn out at all, just worn.
a resole is years ahead. -
Just want to say how much I love these boots. Still my favorite pair!
-
They're really great. I think I need a new heel soon.
-
I might too, due to leg bone structure the outside back portion of my heels wear out faster so (I think the scientific term is pronation)… isn't it usually pretty cheap/simple to get the Cat's Paw heel replaced?
-
I hope so. Let me know if when you have it done. Maybe a harder material for the heel would be better.
-
I have the same problem with my White's. In 18 month I went through 3 heels. It is always the right heel that more or less melts away. A new pair of heels costs about 20 € at the local cobbler.
The only way to prevent it would be to add iron applications to the heel, but I realy don't want everybody to hear me from a mile away.

Better reheel it Sir before it touches the leather. You might go for a Vibram or goodyear heel as they seem wearing down slower than catspaw in my experience, depends also if catspaw is nos or repro and also how u treat them guys outside of course.
I have let my cobbler glued some more gum over my whites heels, holds nicely too for a while

Is it by pure coincidence the horseshoe happens to say "Good Luck"?
I've had these boots for… a bit over a year. I've worn them NOT that often, these are the nicest boots I have right now but I'm slowly building a collection so I can rotate easily.
And within this year, with very minimal wear-time, my heels look pretty much like yours so... I feel your pain.
Interestingly, my right heel also seems to wear down faster too... I am right-legged, I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Thanks for the tip brother… I'm looking forward to any goodies you may have for sale in the future too.
