Bear situation was uneventful. Looked at us took a step forward. Banged my trekking poles together a few times and he fled down the backside of the mountain.
@Graeme:Uneventful is probably a good thing when bears are involved.
Especially since there has been at least one recent bear-human encounter with deadly result (for the person) in NJ .

I went out to take a look at a Robin Boyd house that's just gone up for sale.
It's a lovely place, and is at number 21, which has obvious connotations.
The downside is that Melbourne (and Sydney) are in enormous property bubbles. The agent gave a price guide of between $1.6 to $1.8 million. It's going to auction in a few weeks, and I suspect that it'll go for north of $2 million.
Anyone got a million or so I can borrow?

In a few years you may be able to buy it for less, perhaps even a LOT less.

Yesterday I took a walk along the Northern Beaches in Sydney. As you can see, the weather in the depths of the Australian winter was unforgiving…
This is Palm Beach, which is pretty much the most northerly part of Sydney. Fans of dubious Australian soaps will no doubt recognise it from Home and Away.
Whale Beach is the next cove down.
I was wearing my Vibergs, which were apparently inspired by Tatooine. They worked well on the sand.
