I'm hoping an S would work for me (opening on M is too wide)
My challenge is the chest and back length. I'm hoping the chest works (no prior vest to compare mesaurements to) but I'm mostly not sure about the back length: is it suppoed to cover the belt?

Mine sample does not (not that that bothers me unduly), but we did increase the length on the production run by about 1.25"…..And remember, you have the cinch back to alter the fit at the waist....

No, because it does not exist    I copied the product from IHV-15 and missed that.
