I usually use moleskine but I really like the look of these, may have to invest in one

There's a lot of debate about the paper quality of moleskine vs. field notes or other cheaper environmentally sourced notepads but the quality of moleskine and their simplicity has always suited me just fine. Sometimes you just got to stick with what you like.

I bought some a4 rhodia reporter pads for my study notes and I really like the paper quality, has a sort of smooth silky feel to it which compliments my pen

Good! Glad to spread the Hobonichi love 🙂  The one in the first picture (and all of the other pictures) is the one I bought, and it has a pretty robust thick paper cover (maybe with a plastic coating) but I really thought it needed a protective leather cover because I tend to trash my planners. Also, as I mentioned above, I lose my pens frequently, so designing/building a cover that has built-in pen storage was a no-brainer for me.

I'm on their mailing list, so as soon as they become available on September 1st, I'll mention it here so anyone who wants one can get one in time for 2016. I'll jot a little reminder in my Hobo 🙂

My current role has a huge focus on daily changes, as apposed to a weekly or project rhythm. I've been using Moleskins for years to track projects, but have been struggle to use effectively in a daily org. Thanks Wolfy, a Hobonichi is on it's way!

At work, policeman, I carry a standard 3X5 notepad in my back pocket. I keep it in a sturdy stingray/cowhide cover. The covers are available in other exotic skins too – shark, elephant, hippo, lizard, alligator, etc.

A few weeks in and loving it. Very handy on a daily basis, and it's very easy to track things day on day/week on week. It's perfect for the role I'm doing when it comes to driving behaviours and delivering updates based on certain days. Simplifies my life for real - thank you!

I'm just getting used to writing everything down in mine, and it's really simplifying my life and reducing the stress of keeping everything straight. It sounds like we're having a similar experience! So glad you're pleased 🙂

Snowy, good to hear that it's useful! I have never used a planner before, but I've got a bunch of moves going on in my life so I ordered one a few days ago. I am really pumped to get it. Did you get a case/cover for yours or do you just keep it loose? Also, very cool notepad and knives @Sheepdog149 !

I highly recommend getting a cover for the Hobonichi. The book's cover gets bent pretty easily without one. Not to plug my own wares, but I've been using this http://zeebeeleather.com/shop/hobonichi-techno-a6-locking-planner-cover  and beating the crap out of it, and my Hobonichi still looks great.  I throw it in my bag, in my cargo pocket in my pants, and it's been great.  There are tons of aftermarket covers out there to choose from, but it's a good idea to have one.

I need to get on this train.  Mainly for the random ideas, song lyrics, book plots, etc. that pop into my head that I never write down and never remember a few hours later.
