Alvinne had quality issues until recently… Lots of infected beers... They've grown past it, or so I heard, but I had two beers made by 'm and one was infected and the other one just sucked... Have one more here... I'll let you know how that is... It's theiir 2nd highest rated beer:

      http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/alvinne-cuvee-de-mortagne/172389/

So basically: if they're fresh, try 'm... But as of right now, they will need to work hard at convincing me they're anything but a mediocre brewery... What they try to do is admirable, I guess...

Chimay Rouge for me last night. Kicking it old school.

On another slightly related note. Can anyone (meaning Seul), confirm this as reliable:

Thought as much. Glad I checked. Thank you [emoji106][emoji4]

Local brewery, only 3 km down the road. They only started a couple of years ago and while I've tried supporting them their product isn't always up to scratch. This however is a very solid, tasty beer with lots of body. Promising stuff.

So my local bottle shop sent out an email bragging about getting a limited selection of Alvinne (specifically Podge, Sigma and Kerasus 2014). Are these worth getting? I had Omega last year and enjoyed it.
I'm still learning about Belgian beers, so I figured I'd come here to ask the expert and in-house Belgian @Seul his thoughts!

From Alvinne, I've only had the Omega, Phi and Sigma.  I liked the Omega most, but not enough to go out of my way to buy it again.

My good lady has just returned from working in Antwerp with a couple of bottles for me that I've never heard of:

                      1. Antigoon dubbel blond (7%) from The Musketeers brewery and
                      2. Seef's Bootje's Bier (7%)

                      Anyone know anything about these?

I was just in Brussels.  Stopped by the Delirium cafe a time or two.  Alright maybe it was closer to 5 times.  With the weather being abnormally hot, the Blanche De Brussels Rosee was phenomenal.  In the two days I was in Brussels I drank a solid 6 pints of it.

Thanks Seul, I thought (and hoped) you'd chime in. I think she was given them to be fair but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth! She also brought back loads of Pierre Marcolini chocolate.

                                        Finally summer in northern Norway.

Gueze Tilquin coming up later, but I'm warming up with this.

I've decided that cherries in beer is fine. Not sweet and overpowering. This is great summer drinking. Packs a surprising punch.
