I've wanted a leather jacket for a few years now, but for obvious reasons (price, so many options) I held off… I wanted to wait until I knew exactly what I wanted, had the money, and saw it for a price that I was willing to pay. That perfect storm took a while, but I'm happy to say that as of today I've got a leather jacket!
I'd been trying to decide between two styles: The Real McCoy's Wayward and a J-100. Since the Wayward was made years ago and discontinued, I narrowed into J100's. There are many options, but with each jacket, save for one, there was a problem: price, attention to detail, leather used, etc... My entire wardrobe is filled with Japanese clothing, so I had my eye on the RMC from the beginning. My favorite brand is The Flat Head (look 'em up), and I tried their take on a BUCO, but it was too slim and the shoulders were enormous.
I was lucky enough to try on the RMC at Inspiration Los Angeles earlier this year, and while I didn't take it home (it was navy), it did light the fire, and I've put that fire out today!
Without further ado...
When I first got it I was afraid I'd have to sell it since it looked small and it felt very constrictive. I'm happy to say that it's already gave a lot in the few hours I've worn it in the house (california is hot!), and it's starting to feel like a second skin.

This thread's gotten some serious heat in the last few days. Way to take it to another level @grandmasterben! Fit is perfect, including the sleeve length. Really good work waiting patiently for the right make/model you nailed it!

@grandmasterben Congrats! Looks good on you.

Thank you all for the kind words on the A2, I'm besotted.
@ijpx, yup it's the MJ12103 model.
@fre-co it's the seal brown. In sun light it looks a very nice brown, in shadow or non-direct light it holds a black like look to itself. The sales assistance in the store made me wear it outside to make sure I could see it's range of colour and to ensure I liked the full range, not just the store-lit colour ::) -
This thread is leather jacket porn!
… tons of awesome stuff here and always a fountain of inspirations.
By the way: Excellent purchase and fit @grandmasterben

Thanks so much guys!
It's pretty amazing how much more relaxed the arms became after wearing it for a few hours, it's a lot more comfortable now. The only thing I'm unsure of is how there seems to be a crease in the top shoulder to the armpit when I wear it… I'm guessing that it's from the fact that it's a pretty slim fit on me, more so than others I've seen I think. I do think I've seen this phenomena in @Qinhan's fits… what do you think? I'm guessing that it'll fall more naturally once the leather stretches where it needs to.
-
In the first pic, you can see a tense line from the shoulder near the collar to the armpit. But I think that it's just me being paranoid at having a new expensive leather jacket… it feels real comfortable now and I think that the crease isn't really there anymore.

Nice jacket Ben, glad you finally decided on one!
I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one of these at some point down the road. Measurements on the 46 look really nice.
I really liked the 30's deer skin jacket RMC did a little while ago, but sadly they only made up to size 42. -
My buttocks turning two in August, this pic shows the evo beginning of May. Love it
Buttocks [emoji23] Bucos? Looking good though!
