Thanks MMB, Twin, steelworker, appreciate it :). Today's Farm trip ~2 hours drive from Sapporo was totally worth it. If we'd gone a month later it'd of been outright amazing with the amount of flowers, but was still really special with what we saw/what was in bloom. Lavender all the things (cream puff, soda, pudding, and soft serve) was afternoon tea. All pretty good too!
Tomorrow's our last full day here, no plans for it, might end up doing a smaller trip in the area. We're both enjoying. Monday we head to Hiroshima…

Popped out to a chocolate factory this morning, was interesting. Also at least a few million dollars worth of old toys and grammaphones!!! Did about 30 minutes of street shooting in failing light, and finished off in Ramen Alley (thanks @louisbosco). Off to Hiroshima tomorrow!

We made it to Hiroshima today. Long transit day with lots of nervousness that either connections would be missed or The Luggage not arriving, however, we had time to spare at Tokyo and stopped of for lunch in the airport before the flight (it was rushed, we had about 15 minutes, but that's the point; what was expected to be a missed plane turned out otherwise).
The afternoon was spent in the A-Bomb / Peace Park area. Very solemn place. It's one of those sites I've known would really impact me due to the scale of the destruction. I don't read a lot of death/destruction, knowing how badly it impacts me. It was said that the bomb took out around 2km's (1 mile) of life, builds, you name it. 140,000 lives within a year of the bomb. We walked 2km's 1-way after wards keeping in mind just how far that was to have all signs of life eradicated. So shocking and sad. War sucks. I'll leave it at that.
Tomorrow off to the Gate, and potentially Rabbit Island depending on the day/weather. It's expecting to rain on Wednesday so trying to work out plans for that day…

Well, turns out the gate is not known as the gate, even tho a location come up in google for it. Part of the adventure of travel. We ended up at a train stop that goes crazy about octopus, before heading down to Rabbit Island. Evening was spent @ the baseball, local team was up by 3 runs until 7th, and ended up losing by 3 in the 9th. What a game. No pictures here as it was a night game, few on IG…
The Gate is now Thursday, meant to rain tomorrow...

Weather threw another curveball on us today, so we ended up visiting something I've wanted to visit on all 4 of my trips to Japan. Finally made it to the Itsukushima Shrine. Initially low tide, so we spent 1/2 the day there, until early evening. It was such a beautiful place to spend an afternoon/evening. I had goosebumps even as I was taking the photos, felt like I was part of something special.

Today was a very quiet day for us today. I'd assumed it would rain so had built an extra day into our trip. After realizing we'd be going out pretty hard for 13 days straight we accepted the quiet day. I hit the streets as the sun was starting to set just to take some photos of local life (and some of my fav vending store signs). Tomorrow it's off to Kyoto, hopefully well rested where we start again.
I also popped in for a 3d model today. Turns out that through lots of confusion and explaining, they could not produce one in a few hours, rather it would take 2 weeks to complete and they would not send overseas. A bit of a disappointment. They were willing to do a head shot - which I accepted, which should be sent to me in Tokyo next week, hopefully. I've found a full body guy in Tokyo who's said he'll take 3 weeks and send to Australia, so fingers crossed that one works out. I first came across the 3d models in 2012 when we were in Tokyo, but found that there were no scanning sessions left, and it was booked out 3-4 weeks in advance (we had 2 days left in Japan). So yeah, good to make a start today, and will progress with the weirdness next week hopefully….
