Kind of amazing visually and that should be the case for an over $150 million film… but wishy washy storyline and devoid of emotion. Go see if all you seek is a mild adrenaline rush...

I think the movie is, what the movie should be - a visuall punch in the face.
'Mad Max' and Emotions .. or a complicated and profound storyline would be a bit contradictory.

I've been chewing over the ending and potential outcomes/game plans for days…sign of a good movie.

Alex Garland has ruled out a sequel, which is a shame in many ways because I think that the story could go an interesting direction.

Then again, it could end up going down the AIs kill humanity route, and we've seen that film a lot of times before.

                  Two primary reasons.

First, I don't want to live in an oligarchy. Family fortunes and the power that they bring should be tempered, for the greater good.

Second, Conrad Fucking Hilton. Google him.

No reason in the world to hoard that much $$$ while doing unpleasant things to the middle class/working people 😞

Went to see Mad Max Fury Road and left the cinema before the end of the film. Absolutely mind numbing. No emotion. Read some reviews and the critics loved it. I reckon the film companies pay the critics back handlers in exchange for favourable reviews.

Not saying I disagree with this assessment, but that's kind of the point of the Mad Max franchise. The first three with Mel Gibson were the exact same way, just kind of silly, filler action. I don't think George Miller ever intended them to be thought-provoking or stimulating, but the fourth iteration of the series is certainly visually stunning. They're all pretty lighthearted, but personally I find them all entertaining.

Although Whiplash it is not :).

Correct, actually there are European national football-associations (example: Germany) who dislike that every member gets treaten equally in the FIFA (sick, right?). Isn't it what this self-proclaimed Democracy is all about? BTW Do y'all know who Platini gave his vote for the 2022 World Cup to? Right, it was Qatar. And now he's crying because the UEFA has ''only'' equal rights compared to the other continental associations CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, AFC, CAF & OFC. Sick world…

Ming and Palpatine were turned down for jobs at FIFA for being too morally upstanding.

You've got to hand it to Blatter though. At a time when a large number of senior executives in his organisation are arrested for corruption, not only does he refuse to resign his position, but he claims to be the only candidate for election who could clean up FIFA.

                                          It strikes me that either:

                                          • Blatter has either been complicit in, or tolerated the alleged corruption. Therefore he cannot be taken seriously as the leader to clean up FIFA.

                                          • He missed the signs that there was a bribery problem. In which case he's incompetent.

                                          • He and FIFA are actually innocent and purer than the driven snow on the peaks of the Swiss Alps! In which case he doesn't need to resign, but it might be prudent to do so in order to allow the organisation to continue with a fresh face.
