Almost no carbonation. Vulgar, tan head. Oily texture. VERY strong barrel notes in both taste and aroma. Amazing stuff, but not very subtle. Much closer to an American BBA beer than other €uropean ones.

3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze, Nov 2012. Not that old at all, but much more mellow!.. Seriously blew my mind… Incredible...

Struise Imperialist. Good beer. Pick it up and drink it on a warm day. Nothing mindblowing, but solid.

Well, I bought both of these, an Avery raspberry sour, a 4 pack of  a Victory cherry gose, and two Palo Santo Marron's for $67 tax included. I think the Grand Reserva was around $10 and the Liquid Confidential was around $12.50.

My brother came home yesterday and said he had drank an Oude Geuze Boon at a bar… He liked it... So I decided to test just how ready he is for sour beers... He even likes this'un!..

Just came across two more bottles of Bourbon County Barleywine while checking out a new beer shop.
Talk about good luck! Also got a bottle of Prairie Noir, not a bad shop…

I've got the day off so I figured I'd have an afternoon brew.

Really nice sour, not as funky as Jester King or even Love Child but still very good.
I think Prairie does better with stouts and darker beers though.

Damn. Really nice right now, about 8 months after being bottled. But I'm sure its even better after a few years.
The smell alone is really great, not too boozey of a taste either.
Still wish I had the coffee varietal to try out!
