It's a traditional Japanese grind, only on one side. It makes sharpening the knife easier as you only sharpen the secondary edge bevel and then strop off the burr. It's left and right side specific as a right hander will cut food right to left, and the slices will fall to the right side without sticking to the blade. Vice versa for a lefty

A Scandi grind has a low primary bevel like your Sikayo but doesn't have a secondary edge bevel

That's a really nice knife, you should get a lot of good use out of it

I know we're a bit behind the times, but I'm sure other countries have similar laws against carrying knives. Tbh, as far as I can see there have been a good number of drink/ drug related stabbings in the last number of years and often enough fatal. So people do carry them. Anyway as a caveat, machine guns are the latest big news.. http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/news/gang-known-as-the-family-behind-5m-cocaine-and-heroin-seized-by-gardai-30986653.html

I carry a multi-tool, which is apparently legal in Ireland, which bums me out as I'm moving there. What's that about, Irish forum members?

Cause we're all mad! .. and drunk.. all the time.. Who'd trust a mad, drunk, irish man to legally carry a knife.. not me for sure!

I'm a pretty typical American in that I don't understand why I can't walk down the street with an RPG as long as I'm not menacing anyone with it.

What the fuck would be the point of open carrying an rpg if you weren't menacing people with it?

          Think it, be it.

thoughts on good knives to fit the beetle busters…. well…. Knife pocket? itching to get a new knife and would love to see what others use that give you that "perfect fit" while being a worthwhile edc with a sharp blade and edge retention.

P.S. I'm sorry if this was covered i browsed through the thread but want about to read every post in the 140+pages.

I carry a Victorinox Tinker every day.

I have much higher end knives (Sebenzas/Hinderers/probably a couple other customs lying around) but that's the one I always go back to.

Do you believe the large to be to obtrusive?? or a poor fit??

The large Sebenza 21 is a tight fit in the BB pocket, the small 21 is perfect. If you don't want to splash
that kind of cash Doug is right with the Tinker.

                              seriously.

Been using this really like the simplicity and the blad is very sharp and even easier to sharpen, and it was cheap ( like 25 bucks). But the nub to open it is chaffing a hole in the pocket. Plus like I said I'm itching for something more refined and a little more substantial but the Swiss army is not really my style. I'll check out the sebenzas  and would like to see if there are any more suggestions. Thanks so far, and I'm American and haven't mentioned guns….. YET[emoji12]

If you can find a Small Sebenza with blue calf inlays, they're REALLY nice. I have one of them, and while it doesn't get a lot of pocket time, it's one of my favorites.

The BM 940 is realy nice.

Here is mine. I bought it many years ago and use it on a daily basis (mostly to cut fruit for breakfast at work or opening boxes) and still love it.

The only downside is, that the bladeshape makes it a little hard to mount it into my lanski sharpening tool.
