Really tempted to try the 55 cut as I love how my MBB's fit, but could do with more thigh room….just struggling with how the higher rise on the 55 actually feels like when wearing

The 1955s is my favorite cut. I tried the MBBs, but there simply wasn't enough room in the thighs. I was able to adjust to the higher rise in this model pretty quickly, and have no issues with it.

I wish I could try the 55 UHRs, but they are cut slimmer than the 21oz model, and don't have enough room in the thigh (at least in my size, 34).

@blackcap the UHR jeans use an unsanforised 21 oz (23 oz after shrinking) fabric. I prefer it to the flagship 21 oz denim.

The UHRs have a more blue colour, and are likely to fade more. The 21 oz is softer and more breathable. You pays your money…

ok so i think the 1955 cut is going to make me a happy camper. like seanocono said, ill just have to get used to the higher rise. i should just check though, does the higher rise restrict movement at all?

@graeme when you said the UHR are a little more blue, does that mean the S is a little more towards the black/darker end of the blue spectrum? thats kind of what it looks like in the photos too.

and finally @giles is it ok to request size 36 but at the smaller end of the 36 scale? right now the 36 will fit me perfectly but i plan on loosing about 10kg soon and dont want things getting too baggy later on. i dont think ill be loosing enough to squeeze into a pair of stretched 34s

Hey, blackcap. I don't find the high rise restricting. I wore them yesterday on a 5 mile hike with a heavy pack and over 1,000ft elevation change. No problems with the jeans, whatsoever.

The UHR have a brighter blue shade, whilst the 21oz is a darker shade. I think it's a bit blacker too. But I don't own anything in it, so I can't do a direct comparison.

If you look at the product pages for the UHR and 21 oz jeans then you should get an idea…

@Giles, When will you restock these jeans? I need one in a size 33.

Just pulled the trigger on a pair of these.

                              G. Would you recommend soaking to bed in the stitching?

                              Cheers.

Yes, soak to bed seams. Helps a little.

The 21 oz denim is ready to go right out of the package.  It won't make any significant difference to do an initial soak.

That said, I always wash all my jeans on arrival to clean out any residual sizing, starch, shelf dust, grubby shipping monkey fingerprints, etc. that may be on them.
