I dont know how much you wanna spend but we have some great bicycle stores in Zurich, which are worth to check if you are looking for 1st hand advice. Some of these guys are former couriers and they ride their frames/material hard. Can send u a contact if you want @Finn666 and you can talk to him
Ballpark of his rides start at chf 2000, Italian, Japanese, Swiss high-end pro components/Materials for a complete starter setup afaik.If u have a frame lying around they can pimp that up as well based on the spec you work out with them. Almost everything is possible (depending bit on the condition of the frame as well)

That's a great build, will be great fun to get out on.
Big fan of the FFWD wheels. Got a pair of the F4 full carbon wheels myself. A friend of mine works for the UK FFWD importer and showed me the exact same rear wheel that Johnny Hoogerland crashed on during the 2011 TDF, infamous incident when a team car knocked him off the road and through a barb wire fence. The wheel was still true and rideable despite having had nearly half the spokes ripped out. Strong rim and well built wheels!

Good to know, yeah I remember that incident. Only ridden those on rollers so far and am really looking forward for the smooth mountain roads in Las Alpujarras
First tubulars ever for me as well..Oh yeah, weight for the complete bike including pedals, bottle cages and garmin mount is a staggeringly low 6,87 kg. Good thing is that I've lost a good bit of weight too so I hope that makes climbing easier (which it doesn't of course, I only go faster)

Riding tubulars is a bit of a leap of faith ( especially if you glued them yourself ), taking that first bend at speed waiting for the glue job to fail and the tyre to roll off tends to keep your focus!…......
Fortunately for me my glue job was good and the tyre stayed where it should.
Currently running 23mm veloflex tubs but will try the larger 25mm versions at next tyre change for a bit more comfort.

New toy being built this week. Yeti SB6c in size medium. The Nicolai I built last year is a struggle, too long for me. The Yeti is a shorter top tube and should be more nimble to ride.
Anyone looking for a killer deal on a size large Nicolai Ion 16 frame with one weeks Alpine use please get in touch.

Yes, that Yeti is a great bike! They are one of the few brands that managed to retain a bit of the old Magic. I thought it was gone around 2005, but then they came back with all the odd linkage designs on their DH bikes (and steep Prices, that always helps).
I got into Biking in 1997 and the Lawwill Yeti's / Schwinn's were hot at that time. I'd love to own one of these.

I have an appointment booked for tomorrow with the invisiframe people to get the bike protected with an invisiframe kit.
King push-fit BB, King Headset and Steath Reverb post installed this afternoon.

Quick picture of the work so far.
I have an Avalanche cartridge in the Pike fork, a very good upgrade and gives the fork a bit more mid stroke support.
I did ride the new Marzocchi NCR350r Ti spring fork the other day, very impressed with the new stuff from Marzocchi, back to their best "fit and forget" forks of old.

My single speed project courtesy @Kurt-faith looks like it will not happen. The factory that Kurt was using to make his frames appropriated his design…..Damn.
So I am in the market for a single speed/flip flop. I'm looking at a Specialized Langster (61cm). Is there anyone out there who can tell me this is wise/stupid? Any better alternative? I don't need new.....

Good to hear Marzocchi is back on track - I still enjoy my 2006 66 RC2X. Nothing beats a spring in open oil bath. That's what the old Z1 taught me.

All Dutch, all comfort, all of the time. Workcycles Fr8 Crossframe (www.workcycles.com). NuVinci hub, roller brakes, hub dynamo, the works.
And I can make this go fast.

Build of the SB6c is now complete. A bit of messing around getting the cabling sorted through the frame and having to bleed both reverb post and brakes but other than this it all went together well.
Only taken a short ride on the bike so far but it feels shorter and more lively / nimble compared to the Large size Nicolai it replaces.
Build is 27 lbs ( 12.25 Kg ) minus pedals.
