Tudor!  I just picked up a vintage Monte Carlo from 1972.

Wow thanks @babyknight , I needed a watch of the appropriate vintage to wear on my Yamaha 1972 SR500

        Thanks @davito  !

@Giles  , this is the one I got, the OG 7169/0.  Not sure it's the best match for the bike but if you know anyone who sells clothing perhaps you can find some gear to help coordinate?

damn guys…didn't thought i'd have that much to read when checking back in this thread 🙂
thanks all for the nice feedback...def. gonna check out bucherer soon mate @davito
just googled the snowflake @Friday looks super nice as well…so snowflake or black bay it is, when tudor!
panerai is, well "just" panerai...somehow something special but somehow also a bit of hype to me (or am i wrong?).
i know they make great watches but i'm not sure if panerai represents that what i'm looking for in a watch. who knows...

omega is great shit as well...decisions decisions decisions...damn! ^^

anyways, thanks a ton and o/course i'm always open for new brands or anything else 🙂

@babyknight lovely rare blue bird. Awesome Sir. If you can share a wristshot when you have time would be amazing 🙂

              Cheers,

@Finn666 I love both of those Tudors you are thinking about, perhaps the Snowflake is my favorite though…

Absolutely will @davito , I don't have the watch yet but will do in about a week or so!

@Finn666 snowflake is the form of the hour hand in vintage tudor subs and also some modern submariner models I think (rolex has the mercedes hand), @Qinhan has that beautiful vintage snowflake sub. I am not sure if @Friday was meant to say the black bay which has a snowflake hour hand too, please forgive my ignorance :).
I suggest you call up Bucherer in advance to check if the blackbays are available in display as they sell pretty good from what i was told.

                  Cheers,
                  David

Some vintage ones from the drawerful…when I stopped wearing suits for the most part, I gave these up. I have quite a lot, mostly Swiss, but Russian, Slav, even Hamiltons, all from yesteryear before prices went nutty. Must do something with them all. These days it's just Seiko, or once in awhile an Omega with textured face that I like (not this one, which is a 1960ss).

Nice choice Seul. But if you haven't already picked it up, definitely give this new Citizen diver a look. Apparently it has a few improvements over the earlier model, and it looks great (and funky) too.

@Finn666 Definitely Panerai! They have a very special look and if there is any hype it's not as you see them all over the place. I just like the authentic vintage, minimalistic style about them.

Wondering if you know… Neither have the "Japanese mov't" on the dial... This is the Japanese version though:

So... The ones without the "fine print" are not Japanese made???

Really interesting video just posted on the Hodinkee website showing how FP Journe makes their most complex watch the Grand Sonniere.

There is also some footage of the dial manufacturing workshop where all Journe dials are made, some nice footage of the Chronometre Bleu dial being made.

Not really sure. This one has the same model # as the one at Seiya Japan and states made in Japan in the text.

Perhaps the Made in Japan text is just not included in the photo image?

Yeah - and I was also under the assumption that Citizen made all their watches in Japan (not the bracelets, though)… It's confusing...

I just reckon I need a funky wee diver to rotate with my other Citizen... And I'm thoroughly impressed with that'un, so was looking for another Citizen... Or a Seiko Prospex  :-\
