So is the duck supposed to be slimmer than the regular Type III or is that just happenstance? It certainly looks that way from the pictures and the measurements would indicate it's a half inch narrower in the chest and a full inch at the waist.

Will overdying shrink the duck as well, or are they basically shrunken to size? There has been an overdyed riders Cotton duck jacket once, that one looked great (don't recall ist owner, though).

Probably.  Though I'll likely never know.  They'll end up the size they end and that is the size I will publish.  It was @DougNg I'm pretty sure…

I doubt Haraki is interested in selling what they consider second rate goods, regardless of price.

I agree as well; however, the idea of second rate goods is rather subjective.

I don't have any IH pieces, but I think I want this as my first piece.

I'm 5'8" 155 lbs. I was thinking of getting a M. I want to be able to layer with a hoodie. Anyone similar height and weight have any input?

                          thanks

you need to work with (body) measurements, not with height and weight @lascaux …every body is different as you might know!

                              I'm 6 1" and 180 pounds and went with a 42 size . A Large may work for you ?

Like Finn said , measure a similar sort of jacket you own and compare with the IH measurements . Good luck .

Hi guys, first time poster here (long time lurker).
I wanted to ask about shrinkage post-washing on this duck canvas fabric. Is it notizeable? do you recommend sizing up if planning to machine wash? thanks!

Hey Giles, any update on the overdying? I've been thinking about picking one of these up but I'm really interested so see whether the overdying yields something even better!

@footandmaff The first overdye experiment resulted in the jacket shrinking 2 whole sizes.  We are trying another process…..
