Watches - another OCD problem
-
Very nice SM, I'm still thinking about getting the Tudor Heritage Ranger. Nice cuff too by the way, what's the shirt?
-
SM, lovely watch, I have been eyeing up the Black Bay myself for a while now.
Tudor really have upped their game recently and are making some excellent pieces at reasonable prices.
Rolex manufactured case and strap will give many years of good use. The dark blue bezel is a good choice too, while the original red bezel is quite striking I personally prefer the subtlety of the dark blue.

Nice piece @Sugar Mountain - Tudor are on a roll right now.
A friend asked me to look into picking up an IWC Portuguese automatic for a colleague. He's based in China, and watches are hit by a 30% luxury tax there. :o
-
@Graeme Has your friend looked into buying the watch in Hong Kong? There is a reason that the city is overwhelmed by mainland tourists coming here to buy luxury goods. Interesting to know however that since Xi Jinping's anti-corruption drive kicked off, sales of jewelry and watches to the these tourists have dropped!
@Maynard Friedman The Heritage Ranger is a classy watch and looks really versatile. Let us know if you do pick it up. The shirt is a Studio D'Artisan polka dot workshirt. Fabric is a beauty but I think I might part with it because the cut doesn't quite agree with me.
@ddtrash I think your comments are bang on. I loved the red bezel BB on sight but came to think that it wouldn't work for me longer term and I wanted something a bit more understated. The Blue Bay works perfectly for me whether I'm wearing jeans and a tee, smart casual or a business suit.
-
@Sugar Mountain I don't know if he's looked into Hong Kong. But half the staff in the London watch shops are of Chinese extraction, so here's still a popular shopping destination.
I believe Xi Jinping's drive has had a noticeable effect on the Swiss watch industry. Prices seem to be going backwards in some cases.

The impact of this demographic is massive… It's like that old question What would happen if everyone in China jumped at the same time?
-
feck @Sugar Mountain …now i'm looking at that same watch
-
i really do love the simple but also super classy look of the 007…imo it's perfect for every occasion! you can wear it as daily beater or even with a more formal way of dressing!
the shark teeth aren't my style...it's a bit too much imo. I'm more for understatement when it comes to watches! @Seulgonna receive the 007 tomorrow…I really do hope I'll love it!
-
any recommendations for a nice nato strap?…thanks in advance.
Maratac, best in the game (source from wherever).

Seul, I've been eyeing up that SARB065 for a couple of years now, it's beautiful but I really think it needs the leather strap as its a dress style watch. I don't think the metal strap suits it or does it any justice whatsoever.
-
You are completely right, but I can't wear a leather strap to work, and have been eyeing the damn thing for years as well… It's either buy that and the metal bracelet for it (170 $), or buy it ànd buy a new watch for work. The Monster I have is a brilliant watch, but I kinda grew tired of it already...
-
Timefactors all the way for all your NATO requirements.
-
I can second that. Bought four from timefactors. Be warned though there can be a waiting list. Took me five weeks to get mine!
