The Flat Head

many people go to Flat Head when they are looking for an average weight jean that is going to fade super fast and with a ton of contrast. Similarly, Samurai is sought out for the same reasons but many people like buying samurai for the weight as well…i mean a few years ago you'd be hard-pressed to find more than maybe 2 or 3 companies that made heavy selvedge denim (IH, Samurai and Studio'd are the three that come to me right off the bat)

So Flat Head is in essence a great jean for those who seek results in a relatively short amount of time. i've seen some pairs with only a few months wear that could easily be a couple years worth of fading.

And aside from the denim, you gotta know the cut that you want. personally, i've tried on the 301s, but i love the slim cut of the 3001 wayyyy more. so if you find a great jean that fits, why worry who makes it? nah mean?

The fading is sweet, the fit on the F380 is spot on for me, and the arcs are definitely distinctive

Doug, fit pics?  How do the f380 compare to your IH?

The weight of the F380 is pretty substantial. Nowhere near as IH, but it's got a nice heft to it. The construction is great, although I lost one of the back pocket rivets a couple weeks ago. The fit is slimmer than the 634, but looser than the SEXIH07.

I don't think I have any pics handy, and I can't promise that I'll be able to get fit pics anytime soon (busy packing my stuff for a move). I will admit, I don't have the contrasty fading you see on most FH, I wash my jeans too often

Nice fit there mate. Anyone know how many of those F380 left in stock ? New to this so excuse me if this sounds silly but Im tag 34 in levis and tag 32 in APC, going by that information would I be right in saying I need tag 34 in the F380 to fit right for most of the life of the jean, taking into account stretch and shrink ?

Mine F380 size 34 stretched back to 35 now, just checked rest measurements and all as per Giles website (pre soak?). No magic fades so far, but they don’t see any hardcore wear.

Mmm, interesting - it's made of deer skin.
I have some deer skin stuff - quite a stretchy leather, but not the strongest…bronco hide, in my opinion, would be a cheaper but better option.
