I went true to size, same as all my IH denim, and these are actually roomier in the top block.  And they are pliable (they stretch).  But I don't have the 555-03 to compare.

These were a struggle for me too at first. I sized one inch small in the waist, and the waist is perfect now. From the thigh down remains fairly snug.

I'm really interested in 555-01 or 02 but I'm lost about sizing. I wear Samurai 710xx in size 32 and they are a little roomy everywhere. Anyone here who also have samurai 710xx?

I'm a 34 in 710 and a 34 in the 555-01.  Completely different fits obviously.  The 510 grips the knee, while the 710 doesn't.  I could probably size up in the 555, but the waist might be loose.

Thank you! It sounds like I should order sz 32 then. Was thinking about go for sz31 but I maybe need to rethink that.

It's definitely worth considering.  I consider the 710 the perfect fit for me.  I'm 6'3" 200 lbs with long legs.

Can I expect some stretch in the thigh? They gonna feel pretty tight in the thigh. But I want a really slim model.

Possibly 3/4 inch in circumference if enough pressure is applied….

Giles, Apologies if this has already been asked, I wear a 31  in the 555 02 (18 months in and love them) what size would i take in the sanforized 555 01?

Relishing my first hours in the size 30 555-01s obtained from @Miiks. Intense denim feel due to the extremely snug fit on the thighs. Like it a lot, and now I'll see what the famous stretch will be like, these have been soaked once and washed twice before by the previous owner.

"Probably" sounds like a guess…...But if that is actually what they do measure, I'd go for tagsize 30 in the 55-01
