That makes sense now.  And haha, you noted they are still "insanely expensive", so true, but once you've gone to the dark side it seems almost normal to drop that kind of coin on nice gear 🙂  As long as you perform your due diligence, as you are doing, you won't regret. Regret comes from hasty, bad choices.

I'd just buy them from RMC US (BiG). Much easier to return if you're careful when you first try them on and from what I've seen the pricing isn't completely out of line with what you pay from Japan. I think a few hundred bucks on a purchase that big would be worth it to me. Then again, you'll never see me spend over a grand on footwear.

Also, the RMC Chippewa repro of the first engineer boot is made in the US by Chippewa. Not Buco obviously but thought I'd point that out.

          Think it, be it.

Having the wrong size boot that you can't return is about the same, you wont command full retail on the secondary market if you can get rid of it at all.

Since I helped derail this thread I thought I'd bring it back to Lofgrens with a pic of those beautiful natty cxl boots from VEB's blog.

They selling these yet?  Are these pics just promo shots to wet your whistle?

@Bluegrass I think this is a special thing that got set up over on Denimbro. There might have more info over there. But they definitely are not for sale yet. There might be a preorder or something like that.

Not for sale yet. And not really a Denimbro special in any strict sense. Just a boot that a few guys really wanted John to make, and he was happy to do it.

Nothing concrete yet, but it looks like they'll be ready in February. Going off past experience, there will probably be a pre-order page up on the speedway site before too long…..

I'm also eagerly awaiting those Lofgren sneakers. They look superb and I want to retire the ratty Vans I've been wearing when it's too hot for boots. Due early next year, right?

I think they look fine now but will look awesome with age.
