Honestly Mike, I know nothing about them as I bought them from a fashion type guy on ebay, he paid £600 for them from Oki Ni and if I had done that I would cry and be divorced. For the price I paid I am more than happy and they are evidence that some people have more money than sense.

I think they are CXL and rough out, they are very well made and super comfortable right out of the box, minimal wear and a small price tag makes me a happy bunny.

That does look exactly like the type of boot that would sell on Oki Ni for an absurd amount of money.  I'm not loving the front/back alternating roughout and smooth, but considering you got them at a hefty discount, they look pretty good.  I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on them after you've had some time to live with them and develop an opinion.

Agreed on the checkering of textures, but the front of the pipe won't often be visible, unless Mega starts wearing shorts of capri pants with these…

Thanks fellas, I didn't even notice that the front of the shaft was rough out until they arrived (that's how quickly I concluded the purchase). It doesn't bother me, and no plans to wear shorts any time soon 

Initial impressions after almost a day of wear.

• Comfy like my old White's oxfords.

• Build and stitching is a bit cleaner than Whites.

• They improve the stacking on my Sammies.

• They will be more comfortable for work than my SD's or Indys due to the mattress

The Vibergs are causing me some severe heel rub pain, I've been reading about wearing 2 pairs of socks, wearing them for just a little each day etc… Anyone have any tips for this, it's caused by the slightest of heel slip, but enough to cause a skin to be worn off.

Hi Gav maybe you try with an insole to adjust the fit a bit til they are broken in and reduce heel slip a bit

@megatron1505 my boondockers on the 2045 did the same thing. It will continue for roughly 5-7 days. It will then go away.

Mine hurt for a good couple of weeks. Now they're beyond comfy. Always have a back-up pair of sneakers and try not to walk too long enough in them to get an open wound/ blister.
