In KY and most of the surrounding states we are free to choose to ride helmet-free… No cops bugging you about exercising your rights.

Utah is the same way.  No helmet laws.  Personally I wouldn't ride without one, but it a choice.

oh and thanks graeme for putting hedon on my radar, trying to figure out if theyre legal here now

Are you in Ontario? Apparently ECE lids are legal there since 2012.

My Google Fu is strong! 😉

So are you going to order up a Hedon then @natehate ? If it's any help, they felt as though they had a long oval fit, similar to a Davida lid.

That was off the hook!  Wow…..... It takes serious BALLS to ride a motorcycle that fast.

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in London. If you watch it, you can spot Mark Eley of Eley Kashimoto (in the zig zag suit), and Scott of Dawson Denim.

I'd have gone along, only I thought that my Beemer was too modern to fit in with the prevailing vibe.

I subsequently heard that there were a few non-Kosher bikes present, so I probably could have got away with it. Maybe next year…

live your steve mcqueen dream  😃

I have a friend who owns one. He feels it's a bit under powered, but prefers it that way. Casual riding for sure. Personally I'd go with a Bonne if you're ditching the pipes anyway.

i'd go with the thruxton if i was going new triumph. thats a sexy looking machine
however i did hear a few years back when they went from carb to efi they were having some throttle issues and that the english made bikes that are a few years older again are better
but thats just what i hear
                                      could be bullshit

There seem to be a bunch of scramblers around right now. The Ducati is the other obvious choice, though it's a bit less retro than the Triumph.

Not wanting to be left out, Moto Guzzi have produced a conversion kit for the V7 with 70Tre.

The Guzzi has a couple of advantages over the Triumph: Shaft drive, so no chain to adjust, and ABS is now available as an option.

Speaking of bikes, took my Beemer in to get serviced today. It wasn't a cheap experience, as I needed to get the fuel gauge repaired. Again. The last generation of Boxers have a really rubbish fuel strip that is renowned for failing, and mine was a few months out of guarantee. 😞

Even worse was that there was a small oil leak. A washer needed replacing, but it needed about an hour's work to actually get access to the part of the engine that had the problem. So it was about 60p for a new washer, and £60 for fitting it…

Still, it's running an awful lot better now than it was.

every thing above is right  but the bikes dont say TRIUMPH ,your right natehate i would want an early carb model definatley not an efi model .

the thruxton is not the right seating position for me .

graeme is your final drive still holding up  😉
