Last day of summer with a Fantöme Eté… No carbo whatsoever, but tasty...

Tried the Cuvée jeun'homme: lots and lots of oak, great beer!..

Maybe not the right beer for this cold and gloomy weather, but at least it makes me smile…

You amateurs* need to know though that, when opening a geuze, you should:

                • not unscrew the metal lid, first put your hand on top of the cork
                • unscrew metal lid and screw the cork upwards with a towel for grip
                • not let it PLOP, the less sound it makes the better
                • have a glass ready
                • warning: some kind of humour might be applied here… Germans be aware!..

Oddly enough the cork on this bottle gave way with very little effort. I was quite surprised to say the least. Despite some minute waste it was still so damn good!

                          Surprisingly decent one.

I'm going to have to go back and see if I can find some more from this brewery.  Maybe if I find some more of these, I'll try cellaring a couple, just to see what happens.

Never seen that one Giles, I'll have to keep me eyes peeled. The wife and I are celebrating my birthday and I was hoping for a Left Hand Brewery Nitro Sawtooth (prob my favorite tap), but ended up with a Schlafly Oatmeal Stout. Nice and dark, smooth and easy to drink. An overall winner.

This is a solid double IPA. I don't pick up DIPAs often, since I've had too many in which the booze overpowers all other flavors. That's not the case here though; it's well balanced and has a really nice hoppy bite.

Still like it?.. The Cuvée Delphine (bourbon barrel aged BA) is even better  :o

I do still like it, though not as much as the Oerbier I'm droning now which is double wicked bad.

Giles, I can't think of any witty retort so piss off.
