Pretty slick.  I like the classic.  The green Urban Enduro doesn't have the right feel.  Like they are trying to hard to make it off road.  I was talking to the dealership today as I picked up my top box.  They said it was the perfect time to unload my sport classic as the prices will likely now decrease with the new "retro" inspired offering.

I really like the liquid cooled bimmer.  Good thing I can't even think of looking for a long time 🙂

@Giles, both those bikes are incredible.  It would be a win win to nab either, but I think the first holds a slight edge aesthetically IMHO.

I'd agree with @summ3rhays that the first bike is nicer. But either would be worth owning.

Either the RS or the new R are likely to be my next bike. I've owned the outgoing R for the last three years, so no excuses unlike other posters, and the new models seem to be a step up.

And that gives me an excuse to post another photo. 🙂

Of course, I could always do something daft and buy the Eau Rouge…

congrats expat - you're in for a world of fun - the looking, then the buying, followed by the riding (then there will likely be more looking, buying, riding, and so it goes)  🙂  good luck finding a nice old bike.

            G that's a sweet bike - jump on it!!

Picked up my full motorcycle license today - now starts a long slog of saving up money and trolling craigslist for a decent 80s japanese bike between 500-1000cc and between $1200-2000. The hope is to have something by next spring.

I need to get the plan past her who must be obeyed.  I chatted to the guys, they'll take just about any SR as a donor and build to spec. I can get a 250SR over here for about USD800, so if no 2 has gone before I get permish, I have an alternative route….

I was at Best of Britannia today, and there were a couple of bikes by Old Empire Motorcycles. on display. Nice machines!

There were also some lids by Hedon, a brand that I haven't heard of before. They're beautifully finished, maybe not quite to the standard of Ruby, but they're half the price, and fit me better. (I'd say they're a similar internal shape to a Davida.)

My favourite was the FRNKNSTN, which is at the top, left of the photo.

They're certified to ECE 22.05, which means that they're legal in most places, except backward countries like Australia. You can read more in the BSMC Gear Guide #19, and the reviewer seems smitten.

Hedon do a whole range of shell sizes, which keeps the overall size down for that vintage vibe. Their sizing is a bit different to other manufacturers, I've got a 60 cm head, and am an XL, rather than an L like I would be in an Arai or Shoei.

A full face model is in the works.

@injunjack - what did that Shovelhead ever do to you to deserve that? 😉
