Thanks MCL. Feeling like I'll be able to keep it up. Went out yesterday, and am thinking about heading out somewhere today…Just a matter of where/what 🙂

Yesterday's outing was timed around lunch. Mexican food sucks in Sydney, generally. I'd intended to go to an okay taqueria that jumped onto the food truck craze, but still had a bricks and mortar store according to their website. Turns out they are no longer doing retail at the address listed on their website. Fortunately there is a few other Mexican places near by. Swung into one of them, and had the worst mexican of my life. Literally felt sick after eating it. Not even the rice or beans were well done. Talk about a first world rant, but yeah, there it is.

ANYHOW, I got past the rage of the shittiest food I'd had, and looked at it as energy to enable me to continue the other reason I'd headed out; to take photos..

(and for anyone wondering about the sequencing of the photos, I upload them here in the order they were taken in)

Lots of well fitting, cool looking denim seems to be worn by Sydney dudes in the spring…

Keep your jeans on–-and let nothing come in between you and the denim !

@501/IH I'd say there's a lot of really poor quality cut/denim jeans in Sydney in general. Every second pair is a wash, and every second wash is from G-Star.

Snowy, that does sound a lot less promising than what I meant to have observed.
I am not that averse to pre-washed denim, if it's done well (think of one-wash models or some cool heavy used washes from the right brands) but every second a G-Star, that's pretty dismal. Looked a lot better from the distance, then!
So we stay the comparatively small elite who like their jeans raw!
And thanks for keeping your much appreciated photos coming, always a joy to look at.

Today we ventured outside the big smoke, on a day trip to an area of NSW/Greater Sydney neither of us has visited. Managed to get beyond cell coverage (a blessing considering my phone had been ringing about work since 8am on a Saturday), as well as driving around on loose sand; always a nervous experience when I don't drive a 4WD.

Ended up in an area where over the 3 or so hours we were there we saw 5 cars drive by in total; idyllic for an afternoon away.

MCL spot on observation. I found it weird, certain parts of the bay area smell 100% like sydney bush. Adaptability of plants and people dropping seeds/migration of birds etc other side of the world has pockets of same plants.

There's an explanation for that: they imported Eucalypts there!

They do still grow really well. It's a funny planet when you think of it tho. Like this man made/described region of Sydney, why should it grow things so differently to east coast US. Plants are earth wide and have huge adaptability, if they didn't they'd be extinct. Man Made Labels 🙂

Yeah–importing them was a huge mistake though. They are exacerbating the wildfire situation out there, it's a real tinderbox thanks to how oily they are. In short, they're great, but not in that particular climate.

As I'd mentioned in the WAYWT thread, I popped down to an abandoned building today that is well on it's way to dereliction. Only had to slide through one fence and ignored just a handful of signs stating the privacy of the property.

Was both more and less interesting than expected. Never know what you'll find in these places, and the thrill of the find is always worth the efforts. Added it's fecking scary walking around on a huge lot that is dead still, for the most part. Then a gust of wind, or a bird, or a car drives by.

Public holiday today. Went down to a park near the city. Got some dumplings and steam buns, as well as taking along a Boss Coffee (Japanese vending machine coffee) I've been saving for MONTHS. Few others had the same idea-park that is; lovely day to sit in a protected area and soak up some rays.
