@Max:
Thank you! I have mixed feelings about them. They are super heavyconstructed and feel like they'll last forever. I should have sized up or gone for an E width, so I had blisters the first times I wore them. This is over now and they begin to feel really good on the feet. The only current problem is, that the metalpleats caused blisters on the toes of both feet. But we were walking almost 9 hours and it's been the third day of wearing them. RO is perfect, just brush the dirt away and they look awesome again.
Thanks for the reply, Flo, and I apologize for my delayed response. I'm glad you are enjoying them. I love them, and consider myself lucky to have them every time I hike. I went with an E width, and am definitely glad I did. They fit exactly how I prefer.
You're right that the RO is perfect. I've included a pic of mine after a couple heavy dubs, with countless miles in between each treatment (and since the last treatment). I think they look great for utility boots – and the treatment is useful for the soggy conditions I sometimes hike in -- but I would definitely keep the rough out "as-is" for my next pair of everyday, service-type boots.
Thanks, again, and I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.

Could you proud hiker owner help me please out with a couple questions?
I've find it difficult to judge the sizing since I have never had Viberg's so far. My normal Red Wing's size, with thin black standard socks, is between 9 and 9,5US. I'll wear the IHWE-Build 5 in 9US and the RMC Field Shoe in 8 which is more like UK sizing. None of the above are roomy enough for some medium thick hiking socks.
The next thing I was wondering is the Thinsulate. Is it not to warm or even sweaty while hiking in summer with medium thick socks. How about the breathability? And if they once wet, they probably take a long time to dry?
As far I know they are like UK sizing right?
I could buy a pair in 9,5E and one in 9D.
Thanks Guys!

I can help!
I went UK9D. Mine are for sure on the large size. The D with Viberg=E with RW. These are build as tanks! So thick socks has to be! + wool insole 4mm. My call. I am US9,5D with the RW moc toe. US9,5 with engineers from RMC & TMC. And UK8,5D with Viberg engineers & last 310. They breath well. And yes take some hours to dry. Wools socks close the problem. This rought out fabrc is something! My guess is the 9D for yougood luck man!
