Happy to do it.  Yes I am a bit nuts (I will speak only for myself).  I read this whole thread too, before I jumped in. Plus the one on Styleforum. Boots are important and should be treated seriously.  My only regret is I spent so many years in the dark wearing inferior boots.  Speaking of boots, I buttered these up recently - looking (and feeling) good.

Welp, I just put in an order for my personal grails…Some may be surprised by the simplicity: 8 Inch Black Farmer Ranchers, soft toe, plain toe, brass hardware, single mid, black trim, vibram 700...Essentially 8 inch smoke jumpers without a lug sole!

Fantastic!  You will be surprised and pleased how quickly and nicely they break in.  But yes they are heavy - as a substantial well-made boot should be!  You will get used to it.

I'd have to weigh them but I think these prob weight twice as much as my semi dress and only 1" higher
