The X020 offers a new denim from Pure Blue Japan in the popular slim tapered fit. At first glance it appears similar to the double indigo (X007/X009/X012). Here the weft is dyed first in Cobalt blue then rope dyed in indigo. With wear the cobalt begins to reveal itself through the indigo. They have called it "pop-up denim". Like any well worn jeans the cobalt blue will fade in some areas revealing the pre-dyed weft yarns.
Another way it differs is the texture of the denim. PBJ is known for its slubby weave but this denim has a more even handle. The final image is an example of how this denim could develop with some pretty solid wear.
The chain stitched waistband, hem and top block side seams use a cobalt blue thread. Otherwise this jean has indigo tonal stitching.
(James is 188cm tall and weighs 83kg. He is wearing a 33w)

Along with the re-stock of 400T jeans we have added a denim jacket, shirts, and Polos to our UES Denim range.
This understated brand is becoming more known outside of Japan for its excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail.
It has been doing this since 1994.The Type lll denim jacket is made from the same signature 14.9 oz selvedge denim as the jeans. This is one of the best fitting denim jackets I have seen. It has a slightly lower hem and a slim fitting taper. Although unsanforized, it has been washed once so there is no further shrinkage. The one wash process brings out the rich indigo hues associated with their denim.
The Wabash shirt is a custom woven 8 oz selvedge fabric that has been rope dyed. With wear the indigo will fade.
It is a slim fitting shirt with Corozo Buttons. It has been washed and will not shrinkThe button down Oxford shirt is made from a 100% cotton selvedge fabric with a single needle construction.
The Polo shirts come in Turquoise and a greyish "navy". They are both slim fitting.
We have also stocked a range of UES caps from the Wabash Hunting Cap, The Hickory Work Cap and the Delivery Boy Denim Cap.

@trail and arrow the Hickory cap would fit you. The large lives up to its billing, and was loose on my head.

This month we introduce footwear to our collection of rare denim and finely crafted clothing.
I started thinking about boots last summer. I wanted to find a bootmaker with great skill and the highest standards in construction. A French customer, Vincent, visited the workshop last July brought my attention to Last & Loom. This is a small and highly skilled footwear brand from New Zealand's north island and founded by Hemi Pou. Forum members already know him well if they have followed his bootmaking thread in the footwear section.
Last & Loom boots are individually handcrafted using a very rare brass screw wire construction.
Brass screw wire is spun at high speed on a machine that screws the mid-sole, upper, and insole together creating a super strong boot. They are built using one of the last brass screw wire machines still in existence. It originates from Leicester, England, and dates back to the 1800's when the technique originated. There are only a handful of manufacturers still using a brass screw wire construction to make boots. The leather hides comes from farms in the North Island of New Zealand.
Last & loom X Rivet & Hide: The Boot. Type 2. Soggy Brown:
- Tough Brass Screw Wire construction
- New Zealand full grain chrome tanned Soggy Brown leather
- Solid brass eyelets for durability
- Half bellow tongue to keep your feet dry
- Classic double natural leather sole & stacked leather heel
- Rubber half sole & rubber heel top piece for better grip
- Veg tanned leather insole with rubber / cork bottom
- Crafted in New Zealand

After introducing Last & Loom from New Zealand last week we now welcome Viberg Boots to London otherwise not represented in this city. Many on the forum will be familiar with this family run bootmaker. If not read on.
Viberg has been hand-making boots since 1931. It is widely respected for its superior craftsmanship and considered to deliver the best quality work boots in the world. Over 200 steps are taken to make each pair of boots and this is all undertaken by their skilled craftspeople at their home in Victoria, British Columbia.
The Boondocker is Viberg's interpretation of the standard issue WWII US Marine boot. Adapted from their Service Boot pattern and crafted out of an exclusive reproduction of Horween’s original Natural Aniline Chromexcel leather. From the thread to the eyelets, every detail has been considered and kept as true to the original as possible. The toe box has been left intentionally unstructured and will collapse naturally with wear. The 2030 last is a Canadian military silhouette, slimmer than the US marine boots, and ideal to wear with slim cut jeans.
