I think we all were, mclain. The Algerians were not desert foxes, but rather lions. Germany was lucky, their goalie Manuel Neuer saved them a number of times, and our nerves are in tatters. Against France in the quarters a whole different ball game (sorry for the pun) will be required.

I can't wait to cheer for the home team tomorrow.  I've been rehearsing my "duck out of work strategy" for days.

Strict neutrality for me at Belgium v. USA, and with my typical leaning for lost causes, supporting the Swiss. Perhaps they can make it as hard on the Argentinians as Mexico and Algeria did in their respective 1/16 final games.

ah haha.  Loving this page today.  I'm biased, but not enough so to think that USA has a chance. Argentina barely sneak through, which I think they will continue all the way until Messi is holding the trophy.

Disappointed to not see Beckerman in the starting lineup for the US. The WC needs more white dudes with dreads.  Seriously though, I though he's had good chemistry with Bradley in the middle.

Agreed–he is carrying a yellow, Jurgen may be saving him for later in the match. He's a great player and I love seeing his matted tresses fly across the field.
