@Giles if you're after a fitness tracker for swimming then take a look at the Misfit Shine.

I didn't watch the pretentious video. But any product with an accent in its name is suspect…

Video is a shocker, but I have been using the Withings Scales and Pulse for around a year now (longer on scales). It has modified my life style, and the Mrs and I, even a year in still talk about our daily activities and often compete on week-based steps. Not a gimmick. The sleep side has/does push me to get more sleep. I'll read a few reviews and if 1/2 decent will purchase. 2 watches 😮

That is an extraordinarily irritating website.  After the above posts, I had to check it out.  First, it crashed my phone browser.  Then I went there on my laptop and it gave me a headache- too many things moving and shifting on the screen.  And once you've viewed the video, it starts to repeat, which is really not a thing I want to see again.

Too bad, since the watch itself looks pretty good, and Withings products in general are well thought out and useable.

There's a decent one in the Burlington arcade in Piccadilly (if memory serves) though may be quite pricey! Failing that there used to be a really good pawn shop on the Fulham palace road that used to do great deals. Pawn shops can often be a good shout in my experience.

I'd avoid Burlington Arcade because they're sodding expensive.

Watch Arts in Chichester are just up the road from Gosport, and have a decent range of vintage pieces. I'd suggest one of the Omega RAF watches they've got in stock.

Watches of Knightsbridge run regular auctions, the next is on 12th July, which is Fish and Chips. You might pick up a bargain there.

@Snowy the Activité is going to sell for $390 according to Hodinkee and aBlogToWatch.

Not to me it won't.  I have been trying to unsee/unhear that video ever since you linked to it…

The two tropical Tudor subs caught my eye 🙂

Depending on the model, I'm seeing the Tag Aquaracer online for between $1239-$2080.
1100 pounds is $1887.  So you are looking at the mid/high side of the price range.

Thanks Seth. I think I found the model at an online retailer for £1750 but eBay for <£900 plus customs charges so I'll pass. Was a spur of the moment and would only take a punt if I was confident I could get my money back.

Moving away from the Tag. I have been offered a deal on the Panerai Ceramic Black Seal. I haven't seen it in the flesh but it is new with box, papers etc. Based on images alone this is, in my mind, the most awesome watch ever.

Does anyone here own one? Is it as awesome in the flesh?

Seriously considering selling my Bell&Ross BR03-92 to help fund a purchase.

Hey Matt, read up on those ceramics. The cases have a tendency to be brittle and aren't considered daily wearers even by the Paneristi. The Radiomir is a nice watch though in any form. I had a 308, but ended up selling her for my SnowFlake…

The face details on your snow flake are just amazing. As are the hands, the mirrored sheen on the hour markers, really lovely!
