Role Club By Brian the Bootmaker

Nice to see someone do a classic half welt and pegged sole. Those are rare, and getting more so.

I converted these Chippewa Engineer Boots to a 40's Style.
This pair is a bit different from the other 40's conversion I have done in the past. The owner gave me the privilege to add my own twist with this project. I added two thin leather soles like the original Chips. I also stacked the the heel with more leather and put a thin Catspaw rubber heel. To finish it off, the owner sent me these sweet roller buckles very identical to the originals.

mccoy chippewa have tea-core leather version?????? I replaced the straps with Horween Chromexcel horshide. Hey Brian, just curious but why did you replace the straps?

Because the weight of original instep straps were too light so the holes for the pin were stretched out and wasn't wide enought for the roller buckle.
