I had that problem with my first engineers, Fryes.  The sellers said not to worry, it would get better - it was like wrestling an alligator… screw that.  They are now in the possession of my nephew.

My Wescos were a challenge at first. Enough to prompt me to make a bootjack for myself. They got better, and I haven't used the bootjack in years. Now they slip on and off with ease.

^Nice work on the Alden's!  They look better than new - how does the price compare to sending them back to the mothership for a resole?

Thanks Tigerpac! I've actually never sent a pair of Aldens back for a resole. For what he does I think that Brian's prices are really reasonable. If you're interested just email him for a quote.
