I wear a 9.5, but could have gotten a 9. (Also a US9.5D). The 9.5 lets me put nice thick gel insoles in there though so  it's all good.

      Think it, be it.

^^Same here. I'm a 12 and have the JL engineers in 12. Probably could have gone with 11.5, but the 12 fits fine and allows me to put in my Superfeet 3/4 inserts for more heel cup and support, which I really need. I'd say stick with your true size and get a (custom) insole and some nice thick boots socks.

Thanks guys. Meaning I should go with 9 if want a snug fitting or go with 9.5 if wanting a bit of room. hihi.. Ordering online for a boot is not at all pleasing.

John allows returns but you have to try it on extremely carefully on carpet. He needs to be able to restock as new.

Is the consensus that the JL boots are a half size larger than the RCs?

My size 12 RCs were extremely tight and short were as my 11 1/2 lofgrens the perfect looseness and a hair short. I would say almost a full size seperstes the two but that's just me. I don't wear an insole in either

Side note: my lofgrens are probably going up for sale. Lace ups are treating my foot issues a lot better so despite my love of engineers they maybe out of the question now. @least for the time being

Sorry to hear about your feet Tat.  I was just lusting over the JL engineers on the SE site.  Shoot me a PM if you do consider selling them.

Cristian said RC sizing is similar to RW and Barrie last which is a half size bigger. So a 9 in JL=9.5 in RC. I'm confused.

I'm with Friday - you all have me all fucked up - I've been following this thread and "thought" JLs were basically TTS.  I wear a 12 in RC but I'm scared to try a 12 in JLs.  I'd LOVE to have some JLs if I thought they'd fit (size 12 that is).  I explored trying to get John to do a 13 but it was too much to try and get all the Bigfoots together to make a commitment.

But I don't really understand your concern Bluegrass. The consensus seems to be that the RCs are smaller. So a 12 in the JLs should work fine for you, no?

Maybe I read it wrong in past posts, but I've always understood that RCs run about a half to full size big (which I found to be accurate) - and that JLs ran more TTS.  But if what I'm reading is what you're saying, then the JLs run even bigger than the RCs? And I'm going to jump in when they do a restock…

So I'm 11.5 in RC, 11 in most viberg lasts, and 12 in most sneakers. From searching around the forums, what I gather is size 12 lofgrens would probably be to big. Is that right?

I thinks so… sounds like you might be an 11 in JL or 11.5 for a roomy fit... thats what I'm hearing.

Vintage Engineer Boots wears his Lofgren's a half size smaller than his Road Champs, just FYI. He wears a 7.5 in RCs and a 7 in Lofgrens.

Thanks Scott. It seems they do run a bit bigger in sizing.

I also sent Kiya an email and his advice is to go with my viberg sizing. Meaning a 9 in viberg also 9 in JL. More than that it will definitely be too big.
