    richochet – I'm seriously impressed that you made that bike, dude. You're very talented ! Check this article out :

    I admire KT Higgins. As I've mentioned before, I'm a total numbskull when it comes to mechanical inclination. That's why I write code for a living. Logical/Analytical mind, YES. But there's a certain high intelligence associated with building things, fixing things with your bare hands – and I lack that kind of IQ.

      @ricochet:

      Want to show off my bike hehe. Well it’s not bike bike, but bicycle.
      I made it myself for my wife from bits and used 1983 frame I bought on flee bay.

      That is a sweet build!  I'm just about to do the same thing with a frame I found on ebay.  This time, being only my second, I'll be documenting/photo-ing my progress.  I'm gonna do up a utility bike using an early 80's Univega Vivia Touring frame.  😉

        Go to Italy, they're bloody everywhere.
        My Laverda passed it's MOT today, thank goodness for that and just in time to enjoy the decent spell of weather here in the UK.

                        Looking to purchase a bicycle in NY. New or Used Single Speed. Would like to spend anywhere from $200-$400. Anyone got a hook or know of a good shop? Also, any ideas of a good brand or model that may fit the bill so I can narrow down my search? Thanks!

                          NYC Velo, specializes in fixed gear, they are known to be the best, also bowery lane bicycles (but those are a little pricey and look nice so they will probs be stolen really fast)

                              Lando - can't recommend a place in NY (being on the other side of the pond) but would certainly recommend going used to max out on your budget. Good equipment will last, and is usually easier to maintain/replace (bit like IH!!)

                              I have this http://www.chargebikes.com/products/bikes/detail.php?id=17 which is a brillant frame and I use for local commutes . . . and a nice Boardman Carbon road bike for training . . . and (my baby) Marin MV for absolutely everything else - especially down hill directions!

                                And Wiggle has a decent sale on at the moment:

                                and they are only about 5 miles from me.  Will I be able to resist…..

                                      I've already got one with loads of gears and have fancied a single speed or fixed wheel for some time.  There are so many uber cool ones in Tokyo….............
