What's my favorite beer? Right now, this is right up there:
-
Stupid no beer diet
-
Same. It's killing me.

I'm dry until the 28th, 30 day beer fast as part of a protein diet.

Is no one else drinking beer?..
This afternoon (in the sun): Dupont Saison Biologique… 5.5%... Nice refreshing beer... But now for the real thing!.. One of my favourites... The colour, the smell, the taste... This thing is just well balanced POWER...
One of these was shipped to Houston, FTX.. He's big on sours so he might find this too sweet, though...

Looking forward to that one, Seul.
Here's what I've been drinking recently.

Oddly disappointing. I love Tart of Darkness, another one from The Bruery, so I was really looking forward to this one. However, there's not much strength of flavor to it, just mostly sour. It was worth a shot, and maybe cellaring it for a couple of years will give it some more depth, but otherwise only OK.http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/karbach-yule-shoot-your-eye-out/158069/
Also an OK beer. I want to like Karbach Brewery- they're local and they try a lot of interesting things, but my reaction to most of their beers is… meh. This is one such beer.http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/karbach-002-fra-gee-lay/194905/
This one is a variation on Yule Shoot Your Eye Out. They take the YSYEO and age it in bourbon barrels. Sadly, that doesn't improve it. It adds a layer of almost oily bourbon flavor that overrides anything else. I really didn't like it at all. -
PS: if any of you 'mericans wanna trade… I'm looking for Bruery beers... White Oak, Bois, Mélange 1 or 3, Saison de Lente, Autumn Maple BA, or anything bourbon barrel aged...
I'm down.

Right, screw this. There's a beer festival happening at the pub 5 minutes from my house that has a nice selection of american and belgian beers…..mate called......coat on......fuck the diet for tonight.

I might have a few things you'd like. Let me dig through the fridge and I'll get back to you.

I expect a full report on my desk in the morning. Ok, maybe the afternoon.

I drank several pints of an American beer called "make it rain". It was extremely hoppy and quite acceptable, I followed this with a lamb shish kebab and salad (no pita bread).
The beer festival was most disappointing as they combined it with an Irish music festival, I grew up with that twiddly dee folk shit so got extremely bored and wandered off to a Turkish take away.

I missed the fact that I also tried a beer called Solidus by Blue Bee at the beer festival, which was really quite good.
The "Make It Rain" beer was made by the Sixpoints Brewery in Brooklyn, according to ratebeer.com their beers range from excellent to utter crap, this one was pretty good.
