Great alternative to the cpo shirt! Was after a cpo shirt and came across the Korean field shirts which are a fraction of the price. Olive drab material that is 85% wool and 15% wool and is not scratchy and very warm. Great details in the fit too, especially the shoulders. Bargain for fifteen quid. Unissued and apparently from the fifties. I'm a 42" chest and this is a medium. Can't quite do it up but fits perfectly on the shoulders! The large fits ups to a 45" chest!

Just read something fascinating from left field about their flight jackets…
“Our Flight Jackets are made from the same 10 oz. cotton twill the Japanese military uses to make its uniforms.” ???
Source: http://leftfieldnyc.com/products/olive-green-twill-flight-jacketThe point is if Japan is still using good cotton twill for it's military than top quality surplus, which is rare nowadays, could be gotten for a small fraction of the cost and it would be brand new and not NOS.
I’ll do some digging, but if anyone knows about this stuff (Especially where to get) please post your info. That field shirt looks great Cutlasshound.

I'm def keen to find out more on this! Just had a quick look myself and couldn't find anything…. Only military surplus I could find was WWII stuff. Be great if anyone knows anything more plus cheers for the complement old chap.

Just found this shirt which is a good value + a somewhat rare size: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VIETNAM-U-S-OG-107-FATIGUE-SHIRT-OG-Cotton-Sateen-1974-dated-Size-15-1-2-x-35-/281259859114?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417c64dcaa
Have one just like this (even in same size) and it’s the best quality shirt I currently own. It has Selvedge fabric, good stitching, nice fit, and long fiber cotton sateen; its good quality for sure.I would guess that it fits like an IH large to X-Large.
Size measurements off mine which is tagged same size:
Shoulder-17.5
P2P-22
Arm-26
Length-29
Bottom opening-22.5This stuff is seriously good but sizing info is hard to come by, so I’m hoping to help out with this so someone can enjoy this as much as I enjoy mine…
About Japanese military gear: Funny, all I can find is WWII stuff too, hmmm…. I’ll just keep searching and post if I find out anything…

I’ve been looking at military footwear and wanted to get your opinions and thoughts on the best military sneakers/boots made and/or available.
Here are some interesting ones I found:

Maybe… I rather like the idea of casting some rings myself in that style, but without the USN and other writing. I’ve worked bronze before and done just fine… bet I could do silver too. Need to take classes on casting with silver. So this is how I am trying to convince myself I need one.
-
I love those rings, too – and maybe this is just me -- but I feel like the only people who should wear those are the people who have earned the right (served in the Navy).
It's not just you.

Just spamming this thread on the off chance that it will make someone happy… ::)
Nomex flyer’s gloves….. Warm, fireproof, very soft, and MADE IN USA. Just that time of year... I use them on my motorcycle and they are great. I'm told that I have relatively large hands, but went with a size 9 which is supposed to be a medium...
If anybody cares: Type in "flyers gloves" into the Ebay machine and it’s pretty easy to find these brand new unissued...
