Reminds me of a girlfriend , who had read many books multiple times . Something
I can't do , once you know how it ends . To read a book five times or more seems insanity, or your like the
bloke in Memento .  She also could do a roadtrip with one cd …..

A very smart and funny girl nonetheless .

        Mirthing my way through life.

I read many of the same books over and over again, but I mainly read factual books. For some reason I really struggle with literary fiction  :-\

On the great Anchorman debate, like I said before I have noted that Will Ferrel is insanely popular in Europe, whereas we don't really like or get Seth Rogan and his bunch of buddies. Comedic, cultural nuances I guess.

I love anchorman since we watched it while my chest was getting tattooed for 7 hours. When you can laugh in this situation, the movie has to be funny. At least, if you got a simple kind of humour 😉

Regarding books: it's like saying you don't listen to a record anymore cause you heard it already. Good things, like music, movies or books (to me) are pure enjoyment and I enjoy the way somebody writes as much as the story itself. So, I have no problem to read a good book again from time to time. It's not just about the story, is it?

i also read books multiple times.  just knowing the plot isn't always the point.  take the song of ice and fire books for instance,  multiple readings uncover tons of things you don't catch the first time.  and with factual history books i certainly can't remember everything after one read.

I just read 1Q84 by Murakami. The story wasn't half of the enjoyment compared to his writing and observation.

That's the thought process that made me realize I need to sell a pair of jeans that I bought two months ago.

No, that's just because Seth Rogan & crew aren't funny to anyone other than teenage stoners.  Fortunately for them, there are a lot of those here in the States, so they stay employed.

I fixed that for you, I am of like mind with Will Ferrel though too. I am the type of guy who mostly reads non fiction as well though.

Since we are sharing unpopular opinions though:

The complexities of country music (not the mod garbage) are often unappreciated by those who can't get past it's simplistic lyrical content. Flame away 😉

This will mean nothing to 99.9% of you, but I always found the association between country and western music, and markets at grim seaside towns in northern England in the 1980's unsettling. Every market stall used to have a cheap stereo rig playing very loud c+w music at Skegness market when my father dragged me there for our annual "seaside break" in the early to mid 80's.

There's country and western (the real deal) which is great and then there's the hat acts (Garth Brooks / Billy Ray Cyrus I'm looking at you) and then there's another level which is represented on this side of the water by the likes of Daniel O'Donnell, Isla Fisher and similar dredge. I assume you're referring to the last two categories Mega? If so, I feel your pain…..

I have just always received over whelming hate on the topic. From people in general, to other musicians, most of whom as I said can't get past lyrical content. There are a lot of average musicians who find their way into the genre sure, the same could be said elsewhere. However a picker like Brent Mason will never get the credit that a (insert guitar god) would, even if he is twice the player.
