A phrase from a product description on self edge comes to mind: "…some initial discomfort is well worth the wearing comfort later" (cited from memory).
I think this hits it quite accurately, I would not describe the feel of wearing my new jeans in the tub as particularly unpleasant, but in any event very much worth the later result.

Keep your jeans on–-and let nothing come in between you and the denim !

Fair enough, but what is the "later result"? My guess is it makes little to no difference, and I wouldn't change a thing about the fit of my Strike Golds and they've certainly molded to my body and activity…

Heh, first link when I googled "wearing jeans in the tub" is Kiya talking about it.

It's a rare breed who enjoys the feel of wet denim next to his scrotum, whilst enjoying a long soak in the tub with a good book and a fine tobacco.

sometimes its horrible to have too many job prospects.

I'm currently being offered one opportunity that I'm interested in, but not overjoyed with. There's another opportunity that I really want, and I'm 95% sure they want me too, but they have to interview one other person. The first company wants me to make a decision ASAP, and the second company needs a bit of time.

My biggest fear is that I end up with nothing because I held out for something I really wanted.

(the first opportunity is a part-time (25-35hr a week) contract job with an international clothing brand that would last at least 4 months, the second opportunity is a full time salaried job with benefits at an ad agency)

it's never just an easy path.

i've worn jeans at the beach and actually went surfing in them.  i thought it was a fun way of soaking/shrinking them.  who gives a shit what other people do with their jeans? how's that for an unpopular opinion?

Will Ferrell is one of the most painfully unfunny people on the planet.  Watching him for 5 minutes makes me want to stab myself.  The only person even close to Will Ferrell in epic awfulness is Ben Stiller.

honestly most of those movies aren't funny to me on the first viewing.  it's after you've seen em a few times and you start noticing little things that you didn't notice before.

Reminds me of a girlfriend , who had read many books multiple times . Something
I can't do , once you know how it ends . To read a book five times or more seems insanity, or your like the
bloke in Memento .  She also could do a roadtrip with one cd …..

A very smart and funny girl nonetheless .

I read many of the same books over and over again, but I mainly read factual books. For some reason I really struggle with literary fiction  :-\

On the great Anchorman debate, like I said before I have noted that Will Ferrel is insanely popular in Europe, whereas we don't really like or get Seth Rogan and his bunch of buddies. Comedic, cultural nuances I guess.

I love anchorman since we watched it while my chest was getting tattooed for 7 hours. When you can laugh in this situation, the movie has to be funny. At least, if you got a simple kind of humour 😉

Regarding books: it's like saying you don't listen to a record anymore cause you heard it already. Good things, like music, movies or books (to me) are pure enjoyment and I enjoy the way somebody writes as much as the story itself. So, I have no problem to read a good book again from time to time. It's not just about the story, is it?

I just read 1Q84 by Murakami. The story wasn't half of the enjoyment compared to his writing and observation.
