I am a 8.5 E in the SD and NW last, Kyle at Bakers said I should order a 8 EE because they fit a half size larger.
Can anyone confirm it?

get the same size i suggest and wear thicker socks. theyre not a full half size down. theyre like 1/8 size down so just wear a thicker sock and your good!

But yea, I've heard by some guy that White's offers like 1.5 midsole on commando mini lug…

You are basically right - the mini lug is attached to some leather, which makes the boot look like having a 1.5 sole. It was the main reason for me to get that sole.

Love it - that leather is nice, and double sole with v100 makes it a real shitkicker.  looks like it might be a BH - built on SD last.  regular SJ last seems to have a more squarish toe. but i agree, for me (esp. at 6'7"} its too much sole.

Love red dog rough-out will be my next pair but on single with 430 vibram and quarter lowered block heal, no toe box, 8" high, brass eyelets.

My used White's Semi-Dress boots that I scored a nice deal on. They are size 8 1/2 D black Horween Chromexcel leather, leather toe caps, block heel, brown edge, Vibram 700 sole, nickle eyes and hooks. I need to get another pair of boots that I like this much as I don't want to wear anything else.
