Luckily most of the photos are already on the IH site…just gotta copy the links over.

If I was truly a forward-thinking individual, I would have just built it with the links instead of files. Hindsight is 20/20....

I guess my thinking was (or at least I can claim that it was) I didn't know if they had their image links hardcoded or if they were using php to pull up a wwwroot each time.

Yeah, that's a good enough story.

Does the snow use up too much CPU?

I remember the snow beating the shit out of my old macbook in 2011. It made the fan turn on full blast to cool it down. I thought snow was cold….

I'm no seeing any snow this year though.

edit: I'm using Safari on a 2012 MBPr so I would love to see some snow and how well my machine handles it.

The fans turn on because that's what adds the wind effect. 😉

Otherwise the snow would simply fall down vertically.

Kidding aside, I will look out for a slimmer library that is not as CPU-intensive.

It takes up 50-60% of a 2Ghz Core i7, which is quite a lot for a little bit of snow.

(And the irony of bitching about snow is not lost on me, don't worry 😃 )

LOL that's the one I have used last year.
