I like him and hope he can win more championships.  But there's usually a precipitous drop in his total QBR come the postseason.  Same pattern many years.  Lead the league, or be among the league leaders in efficiency during the regular season, and then be a completely different player in the postseason.

Last year, he led the league in Total QBR (82.4) and in the postseason this dropped like a stone to 56.4, good enough for 8th place out of 12 QBs.

Elway isn't a good comparison because his postseason numbers were usually pretty good, win or lose.  He has a handful of poor performances (and not all of those were losses) and a bunch of good performances, better than his regular season numbers (and not all of those wins).

We saw it this year.  When the Indy game was made into a big game by the owner's ridiculous comments, he laid an egg against a team they should have blown off the field, in a venue he knows very well.  He also didn't have a great game against Brady, though he had some shining moments in that one.

      Think it, be it.

True, but Harrisson, Wayne, Stokely, Clark, etc… in 2004 wasn't too shabby either:

I'll give you Marvin and Edge but the other guys were and are fringe players without Peyton

Thomas, Thomas, Welker, Decker, Moreno, Ball(coming on) are all more talented than anyone not named Marvin or James

Probably true, though the fact that Peyton elevates the play of his receivers makes it difficult to assess HOW true that is.  Peyton also hasn't had an o-line like this since 2005.

We could have won the NE game. Notice how NE lately seems to only win by a field goal. Whoopdi-do. Peyton is doing awesome for QB with as much ankle pain and neck surgery, etc. No one in the league right now can be as good with all the crap he has to deal with. The o-line is awesome, as well. If it weren't so cold and midnight we would have kicked NE's ass. Decker did wonderful last night!

Playoff football is cold though unless you secure home field advantage and play indoors or in the South.  I look at that game and see a Defense that spotted the Broncos a huge advantage and a massive disparity in how the quarterbacks played keeping New England in the game.  Denver was by far the better team, but their quarterback got straight up beat.  Brady's rating was 37 points better than was Manning's.  That's why I say he's your greatest strength and your greatest weakness.

As much as I hate the Patriots and dislike Brady, I respect that he was willing to take a pay cut to try to retain talent around him, even if the idiot front office thought Amendola was worth paying more for than Welker.  Brady still holds the single season TD record, though Manning has 4 games left to get the 10 TDs he would need to break that record.  I suspect he will manage that, the only tough defense left on the schedule is the Titans.

Don't care about his paycut, his wife makes double what he does. Don't care about him whatsoever and his team. It's about this season, that's what matters and that's why Peyton and the Broncos are better. Titans, are you kidding me. Really.

Well, so far they aren't better, they're 0-1 against them.  Titans have a top 10 D in yards per game, Broncs are 27th. Respect your opponents.

I have zero problem with this given how Seattle fans flew a 12th Man banner with a plane over Candlestick, and also given what dicks some of their players act like between the lines (and even on the sideline: I'm looking at you, KJ Wright).

As a Seahawks fan, I am completely okay with this.

As MCL mentioned, our players do act like jerks (this trickles down from Pete Carroll; his SC guys were even worse). And our fans started it.

This is just the beginning, though. We will see more.

I was kind of pulling for the Hawks, I mean, how can you not like Wilson, but some of the defenders and Golden Tate really rubbed me the wrong way.

Yeah, I like our chances with home field, and we're built for a foul-weather Super Bowl.

The NFL Playoffs are always wild, though.

History isn't on our side, either. Last city title was in '79, and that trophy resides in OKC.

Great rivalries need stuff like this, and frankly, the NFL has crushed a lot of the truly incendiary stuff.  Even Philadelphia fans act like functional human beings these days.  Well, mostly.
