Pocketknives/Kitchen Knives/Fixed Blades

Glad to hear was shocked when you got rid of it last time. IMO it is CR masterpiece. I have had every model of his knives and the Ti-Lock was the only one that blew me away.

Sick harpoon swedge.
Speaking of harpoon swedges, just got off the phone with Dave Curtiss after seeing this little one-off on USN. S35VN blade, love the filework on the backspacer. It's soon to be mine, he's invoicing me this evening:
-
That's pretty damn cool mac
-
Jeff, those Ohta's are sick…
-
I have had many knives way to many to list; out of embarrassment.
I have finally found my knife maker of choice and it is Ohta. His fit and finish is second to none and his knives are practical for me. I highly recommend checking him out. IMO you can't get a better non-tactical knife for the price.

I carry this old Case from D a lot. I love not only the knife but its old supple leather belt sheath. Tonight's carry.
-
Love how Japanese this Ohta friction folder is. Hamon line? Ironwood? Carbon fiber backspacer? Immaculate construction? Killer pocket sheath? Yes please. My next compact EDC. This was something I have looked at for a while but for some reason was too dumb to cop, even at its very fair asking price. Really glad the universe kept her in place for me.

^nice addition… that hamon is legit

Never owned a pocket knife before but have just ordered one up for use at work. Got fed up with cutting up fruit with a blunt table knife!
Having read though this thread and done some other internet research it looks like Spyderco seem to be a good starting point for quality and value.
I have ordered a "Sage 3", nice looking blue scales, handy size and relatively easy to keep sharp.
Will post some pictures once it lands.

Good choice! Spyderco has been and continues to be one of my favorite production brands.
-
Doug, I strongly suspect you are correct with that statement.
I had to reign myself back from getting a bit silly, Sebenza's and Hinderer's were starting to get "googled" a bit too frequently.
Looking forward to receiving the Sage 3, positive reviews all round and should be a good tool.
Feeling a bit guilty at buying an expensive knife for cuting up Oranges at work during break times!

Nice dd! My first Spydie was in the early 90s. I remember seeing Cliffhanger in the theater and seeing Stallone whip out the exact model I had and stab someone with it. I only have one in the collection currently, as that one is long lost, but it sure did serve me well. Love my remaining Spydie. Looking to replace its G10 scales with ironwood.

Very happy for you Seul!!! Have you already ordered the Ti-Lock? If not, I see some new IH/Beer in your not so distant future.
