How much will they stretch after a soak? Is a soak needed or not, before wear?

These are raw unsanforised so a first soak is recommend to bed the fabric in. Overall shrinkage after machine wash/soak with agitation is around 4% horizontally and vertically in the 18oz and more difficult to stretch out than the signature sanforised 21oz.
I dont own these but had the 666s and still have the 634sv in 18oz raw.
If you manage your thighs post wash, sizing down in these 555 may work depending on thighs but again 18oz is harder.

Measure your best fitting pair and compare it with those in here.

Thank you for your help, just bought a 29 of 21oz sanforized here in switzerland… They are damn tight i hope they will stretch about 1" or 1.5"
Then they are perfect!

thank you Sir Gile$. good job dreaming up the 18oz denim, backwhen IH were only doing special denim for SE & their 5 year annie. i hear talk of IH 18oz just being average by many denim dudes, but Iron Hearts average just seems sooo much better than everyone's else awesome to me.

The Front Rise measurements on the sizing chart look like they might have been mixed up:

Size 30 - 10.5
Size 31 - 10.6
Size 32 - 10.0
Size 33 - 10.3
Size 34 - 10.5
