Hmm, undecided as to my next bottle. My 1/4 cask laphroaig is almost finished. None of the deals at work are very interesting, and I really don't want to open my 'Snow Phoenix'…

The sad passing of Hiroshi Yamaguchi President and Chairman of Nintendo Co Ltd has made the decision of my next whisky for me…

Hibiki Japanese blended whisky, extremely smooth. Very nice. Caused the girl behind the bar no end of trouble "I've not sold many whiskies yet". :).

              Sweet, moved on to:

Petercairn which is an Islay malt. So very smokey… Not as rough as Laphroigh though, which is my favourite Islay malt and which Iain Banks described as "an explosion in a chemists shop" or something similar... I recommend Iain Bank's Raw Spirit by the way. A book about the search for the perfect single malt.

I know I'm being vague here, but does anyone know the name of a ridiculously peaty scotch which comes in a very modern looking black bottle? Retails about £70 a bottle.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

I don't know if you could be any more vague :). The company I work for currently has a Dalmore Constellation for £2,000 the Constellation range tops out at £125,000 which I imagine nobody will ever drink…

The best peaty scotch i have ever had would have to be Ardbeg Uigeadail, fantasticly complex.
In fact, any Ardbeg scotch is great!

Other that that, if you're a sherrybomb lover, Glenfarclas is your best friend.
And if you just like a good scotch with a bit of everything, Glenmorangie Original is one of the best.  It is apparently the most popular scotch.. IN SCOTLAND… Now that has got to be saying something.

Not really - most popular beers here are pils (Jupiler) and shite like Lefe, Grimbergen, Duvel,… Never trust the majority...  😃

My favorite Bourbon lately is Buffalo Trace. I can get it for about $21 and it tastes like I'm seriously underpaying.
