I've never had anything but a great experience when shopping at SELA. It's the only store I've been to where the staff goes out of their way to help you, and then when it comes to trying stuff on – and making the purchasing decision -- they completely give you your space. It's the most comfortable retail experience I know of. I have recommended visits to several friends, and strangers, who ask where I bought my clothes.

(And you wouldn't happen to have any spoilers of the upcoming SExIH collab jeans ey?.. For the IH forum?.. We won't share with anyone else, pinky swear!..)
The new collab that we're doing with IH is going to be awesome. The fabric is a new 20oz unsanforized LHT denim with a gray weft that feels great and is the perfect combination of a heavy weight and wearability (which has become very important us).
We're releasing three items in that new fabric. A 301s fit, the 633s (a new fit which is a modified 634s with a slightly smaller leg opening), and a modified Type III jacket w/ hand pockets. Should be out late December! -
My only gripe against SE is that all their promotions are drinking related and I don't drink. You need to have a coffee drinking day at the store. I do most of my impulse buying when overly caffeinated.
Actually, at SENY, SELA, and SEPDX we have slow bars (pour over coffee complete with burr grinders, single origin beans, scales, etc..) in the back where on a slow day we make coffee for clients!

Boom! Ask and you shall receive, thanks for the scoop Kiya!
-
kiya: that sounds promising… Will the rise of the 633s be somewhat the same as on a pair of 634s?..
Yup, same exact rise!
-
Damn, 633 does sound good. And 20 oz grey weft LHT. Those are going to be impressive.

one more positive review for SE - first of all I have been treated great by kiya and the guys at SESF with all my online purchases, patiently answering questions and managing exchanges as I figured out how to size the denim properly. And my best story - my wife was going to be in NYC for a day on business and I had asked her to go to SENY the day she arrived - it turns out that her plane was late, and she grabbed a cab, and called the store and Tomas kept it open for her - then he hung out and showed her jeans for like an hour or more - she finally bought a pair of 301s and a 3sixteen+, oh, and she got a pair of Roy ducks and the IH Johnny Cash shirt for me :). They hemmed her jeans and shipped it all to us in 24 hours. She was blown away at how knowledgeable - and NICE - Tomas was. And she did not mention anything about it smelling bad which she would have if it did - I can fart outside and she will come out 20 minutes later and tell me something stinks!

It was Self Edge that inspired R&H. I bloody well love this store.
It's the whole experience of spending time there not just the clothes on offer.
When you sell serious shit you smell serious shit. -
being a swede ive only had the fortune of visiting self edge once, when i was in nyc like 3-4 years ago. obviously self edge was at the top of my to-do-list together with big. got there pretty late one day and was afraid that they would be closed, luckily they were not and i loved every minute of the visit.
i remember that after the visit i didnt much care for iron heart haha, based solely on the fact that i found the 21oz to be dull. i now, obviously, love iron heart! either way, bought a buzz sweat and apparently paid too much so the guy working there chased me down the street whilst screaming my name just to give me a couple of dollars in change back! think his name was alan (could be wrong though) and he was super friendly.

New Flat Head Fall/Winter Shirts, Tees, Socks, & More
A super-duper hot shipment of new shirts, tees, socks, and more just showed up from Flat Head.
First up we've got a short sleeve black shirt with a discharge print that is a spaced out paisley pattern. Spaced out as in the pattern is sparse, not spaced out like PJ O'Rourke in the 70's.
The fastest selling shirt we stocked this past spring was Flat Head's indigo dyed linen short sleeve. We now have the long sleeve version of the same shirt so that now you can get them honeycombs with your elbow flexes.
We've also received a full restock of blank Flat Head tees available in three colors. This is our first time stocking the white versions of these tees due to receiving many requests for this color.
Japanese companies are very good at taking the normal and making it so intense that you wonder how you ever lived with the pedestrian version. Flat Head has done with with their new heavy winter merino wool socks, folded in half they sit about three times as high as our next heaviest sock. They're super soft and are sure to last longer than your current socks; these are available now in both navy/black or olive/black striped versions.
Along with these new items we've gotten full restocks of Flat Head's belts, cordovan card cases, Wild Child wallets, and all jean models. Check the online store for spec lists, measurements, and more.
